Some tips for fighting for new players: 1. My Golden Rule of DS: never fight more than one enemy at a time if you can help it. Dark Souls combat system is oriented primarily towards 1v1 fights; the difficulty of even the weakest enemies can increase exponentially if multiple are present and fighting you at the same time. Having a bow and a lot of cheap arrows is invaluable for avoiding this, as you can manually aim at and shoot enemies to get them to fight you without their buddies noticing. 2. If you absolutely have to fight more than one enemy at a time, at least try your best keep them all in sight. When you're locked on to a target - which is what you'll usually want to do - you won't be able to look anywhere but directly at them, which can leave you open to attacks from the back or the sides. 3. Please, for the love of God, manage your stamina. What this means is, be as efficient as possible with your actions that consume stamina. Don't just randomly swing at enemies until your stamina runs out, because if they are still alive at that point, you won't be for much longer. Also remember to lower your shield while you're waiting for your stamina to regenerate, as blocking will slow the regen down, even if you're not currently blocking anything. Finally, don't spam the roll, no matter what - either roll only a few times with good timing, or sprint away, depending on the situation. 4. Another efficiency tip - don't rush through areas and/or trade hits with your enemies. DS3 may sometimes feel like a hack-and-slash game, but it's not. Until you get to the next bonfire, your Estus Flask charges are all you've got, and needless to say, there are many enemies and only one of you. 5. In DS3 poise (the measure of ability to not get stunned/staggered when getting hit) has been severely nerfed, and all but the biggest and most heavily armored characters can be fairly easily chain-stunned through consecutive attacks. Therefore, a faster, somewhat less damaging weapon may be more preferable at first than a more powerful, but slow one. Remember though, the poise nerf applies to you as well, so don't trust your armor unconditionally (at least in terms of "stagger protection"), and take care not to get yourself chain-stunned. Well, that was a fucking wall of text. If you read it all, I applaud you. Now go play DS3, and gl hf!

Ill add some tips of my own: -Poise is weird in this game. Its not exactly like Dark Souls or Dark Souls 2. It is similar to Bloodborne. -You can stunlock most regular enemies, but only for a few hits. If you have a fast weapon, get in 2 or 3 hits, and then back off to get ready for a dodge. -It is a good investment to get the Heal or Heal Aid Miracle. You only need one attunement slot and some FP and you can get an extra heal when you have the time. With Heal, one Ashen Estus flask can get you 2 heals, which is more than one single Estus Flask. -Try to fight enemies 1 on 1 when you can. Fighting even two enemies at once is drastically more difficult than fighting only one. The Light Crossbow is found early and most classes can use it. Buy a few bolts from the woman in Firelink Shrine and use it to pull enemies one at a time. -Using an Ember *Increases* your max health. It might feel like you need to use them all the time to get the extra health, but that extra amount of health often only means one extra hit. Only use embers when you intend to summon helpers. -The Way of Blue covenant summons Blue Sentinels to help you when you are invaded. Also note that covenants are items that you equip now, and you can change them any time there are no phantoms in your world. -When you are invaded, do not panic. Fall back to a safe area with no enemies and wait for the invader. If you get the upper hand, invaders often run away to hide behind enemies. Do not follow them. Wait them out. They will either come back at you or simply time out of your world. -When you are a phantom of any kind, your maximum amount of Estus Flasks is cut in half, rounded down. So if you have 4 Estus Flasks, you will have 2 as a phantom. If you have 3, you will only have 1 as a phantom. And if you have 1 of a type of Flask, you will have 0 as a phantom. -Invaders can use Estus Flasks now, but they also have a reduced amount of flasks. -*Do not be afraid to use consumables.* Do not waste them, but if they would be useful now, *Now is the time to use them*. Keep in mind that the consumables you find in an area are usually going to be useful in that same area. If there is charcoal pine resin laying around everywhere, that is a good hint that the enemies or the boss in the area will be weak to fire. -Practice the parry. If you can parry a wrench, you can parry everything. -Shields actually have battle arts. Some shields can parry, while others let you use the battle arts of your weapon. Pay attention to this so you don't accidentally use your weapon when you try to parry. -Look at the stability of shields you find. Stability is how much stamina you lose when you block an attack. The higher this number, the better. A shield with only 90% physical damage reduction but 65 stability might be better than a shield that blocks all physical damage but only has 50 stability. If I can think of anything else, I will add it later.

If you were curious about the signs for a mimic: The chain on the right-hand side of the chest(when facing it) is the biggest one. If it's curled, it's a regular chest. If it's straight, it's a mimic. There's also usually messages in front of mimics saying "Betrayal!" or something along those lines. Surprisingly enough, unlike illusory walls, those are usually true.

I wanted to add that ive noticed an invisible bar as you play, this will return orange estus to your bottle, some enemies contribute more than others, an an invader, npc or real, will fill this bar one and a half times, giving you back an estus and almost another. The most important thing that was missed on was enemy scaling. As you level, since the days of Demon's Souls, the enemies get stronger with you. So choosing your pts wisely makes a huge difference in the end, this also helps for PvP. So planned builds are a must if you want to have an easier time.

Heres a book of few tips that I've picked up while playing: Embers *are unlimited* , but they may require farming in early game, as most of the time its not worth it to buy them from the shop. They're generally overpriced, and there are easier ways to get them. Buy the white sign soapstone from firelink, and partake in some jolly cooperation. Not only do you get free embers, souls and covenant items, you can also practice bosses without the penalty of death. Dont let death discourage you. Its all part of the learning process. If you keep dying the same way, take note of how you are dying, and take some time to adjust to dodging the attack if possible. If you are playing online, USE MESSAGES!!! Its basically free healing whenever someone rates your message, positive or negative. If you notice a specific enemy type dropping a useful item, then dont be afraid to spend some time farming. The hollows in regular cloth clothes in high wall of lothric, for example, drop titanite shards for you to upgrade your weapon to +3. And lastly, *BE THOROUGH* !!! I know that it was mentioned in the video, but I cannot stress it enough, being thorough when searching new areas is the way to go. You will get plenty of materials, new weapons, and maybe even unlock some secret areas and shortcuts that will make progression so much easier. Just remember to be cautious and observe your surroundings constantly, as there are many different ambushes throughout the game designed to catch you off guard. Enemies in this game are designed to be one step ahead of you, so it pays off to be observant. That was a bit long, but I hope it helps 😁 Oh yeah and remember; PRAISE THE SUN!!! \[T]/

As someone who has finished both DS3 and Sekiro i'd say Sekiro was tougher than DS3. The reason is in DS3 all the bosses have a learn-able tactics and after a few tries you will understand what you need to do to take him down and also your muscle memory will start to help you after a few deaths on a single boss. But man there are some bosses in Sekiro that u must be a legend or something to be able to take em down without cheesing them. I platinumed Sekiro. But never defeated one or two bosses in a normal way and had to cheese them. All in short, DS3 was the best experience that i had in these kinds of games. But not the hardest like the people talk about it

One thing to take note about this game is that it is probably going to be harder than almost anything you've played before. If you're a veteran to the Souls series or played Demon Souls or Bloodborne than you already know what you're getting into. With that being said, this game can easily last you 60+ hours of gameplay. You are not a badass in this game, taking on multiple enemies at a time in this game is almost suicidal. Even weak enemies can be dangerous if you're not careful. The gamegrumps have played a good amount of it if you want to check it out.

Happy KZbinr thank you so much for your input. as i said I've never played any of these games before, i'm usually a fifa player, but i want to try new different games and i thought this is the place to start,I know it's not going to be easy. I've read a lot of reviews and I've seen a lot of gameplay on KZbin and most of them point out that this is probably the hardest game ever to play aside from bloodborne, but since I have an Xbox One S I can't play bloodborne so I have to play Dark Souls 3 by default.

@jokkepokke958 жыл бұрын
Another VERY important thing to know is that very much like in Bloodborne, the game will actively give you enough easy-to-find titanite so that you should be able to progressively level up two weapons to match the harder difficulty of the later game sections. Therefore, no matter if your build is a sneaky assassin, mage or tanky 2-hander, you should always consider sticking to two different weapons that can be swapped between according to the current situation, so that you're not stuck with one overpowered weapon that's useless in one area or five underpowered experimental weapons you're still undecided on. A dagger or short sword might not have poise damage or group control capability that a heavier, bigger weapon would have, and a big weapon for all you giant dads might be too slow for the majority of all the new Bloodborne-esque enemies and bosses you're going to meet. ALWAYS keep your weapons up to date with your surroundings and don't go all "omg this ultra greatsword is so great, I can't be beat with this in my hands". Because you will if that's the only thing you're sticking to.
@MikeySaysGo8 жыл бұрын
Awesome video. Dark Souls is not terribly hard. How you play the game makes the biggest difference. Take your time and always leave stamina to or roll away. The bosses in DS3 are really easy to read and predict. If you're having trouble try changing your shield and armor to something with more resist depending on the encounter. The most important thing is to have fun and don't let the deaths ruin your play time.

At #4 you forgot to mention that it's pretty easy to get embers if you put your sign before a boss area, and help other players kill the boss. Other than that, great tips!

i spent over 200 hours on DS2 SOTFS. I explored as much as I could. Over all it was a fun experience. Now I am about to start Dark Souls 3. Currently I only play offline. ( system PS4 )

Crazy Beard I started in the Souls series with DkS2 and beat it to the queen, without DLCs. Now I'm on DkS3, the game seems more difficult than DkS2 but also fun, at least for Strength players.

Hardest game, overall and all things considered, I've ever played by far. However I'm new at the DS games. One thing about it is that even though I basically don't mind the continuous dying, the constant loads screens and continuous replay of sections over and over and over again can get not just frustrating, but very old and annoying in waiting for load times. It's load times in general that can make these type of games highly unplayable. However, the actual game and gameplay and mechanics and fun factor is ridiculously high so for me it's usually worth it. I'm on my third day now trying to beat a certain boss. Sort of ridiculous- but definitely fun. Just be aaare when you buy DS 3 that you'll sit through hours of load times due to dying so much and sometimes that fact will make you want to stuff a grenade in your Xbox one

How to spot a mimic. The right side of chest has a chain wrapped in a half circle. The opening of half circle towards the player = mimic. Opening towards the wall = chest. Also if you look at the front of chest(using the aim of a bow) you can a mimic breathe as well as see it’s teeth

why do guides for new players never go over dueling etiquette like greeting emotes or allowing of buffs and various other things
@brandondanforth83426 жыл бұрын
Because not everyone wants to duel... When I first started playing DS, I hated invaders and would gank the living shit out of them if I had a phantom with me. As I got better at the game (and of course pvp) I started going along with the 'honorable duelist" mentality but idk I feel like if you invade you take the risk of running into someone who gives no fucks about the etiquette and is just looking to push on to the next boss without interruptions. I know that you can just go offline if you don't like invaders, I'm just trying to play devil's advocate here...

Why do every guide video about dark souls tell you to hit the chest in order to see if any enemy is hiding inside? .. guys if the chain on the right is pointing down ..it's a bad one .. if the chain in having a curve upsides it's a safe one ..

You arent, i also had DS3 as my first souls game, at first it was hard, now im about to fight the final boss with 2 +10 weapons.
@doomdoot67318 жыл бұрын
+Julian Uranga the soul series might seem hard at first, but as someone who picked up the games rather recently (started 2 months ago), it's often not as hard as it seems. The most important thing to bear in mind is that there is an online-coop option for just about any boss in the games. If you try to solo them, you'll end up getting killed. But if you managed to coop with one or two mages and a tank, you have pretty good chances of beating the game with little to no trouble. Another thing that is important to bear in mind: blocking is a mechanic that exists for a reason. Often against huge bosses, you'll find yourself in a position where you cannot dodge the last attack of their current moveset. If that's the case, just block it. You'll take reduced (or no) damage and it will "only" drain your stamina a bit. Don't rely too much on blocking vs bosses though, because a strong/long combo can easily drain your entire stamina (looking at you, Pursuer!). Lastly, it should be mentioned that the game is all about patterns. If you can learn the attack patterns of an enemy, you can beat most any boss/small enemy without too much trouble. Again, setting yourself up for summoning can be very helpful in this case.
@Draculas-knight8 жыл бұрын
+Overlord IV not realy because if you get a summon in the boss the boss has his stats up more hp and damage and for example the namless king on coop well its one hell of a fight more than it already is
