This may be unrelated, but one of the most fascinating things to me is the placement of the sea behind Lothric Castle. You never quite get a good look at it until you actually ascend the castle, but once you you get a good look you can see how massive it is, and how it almost seems to be overtaking the land. I always felt this was symbolic in some way, the very land twisting and shaping itself to bring these Lords of Cinder together, but this huge sea preparing to engulf the world around it. The same happens in Dark Souls 2 (take this one with a grain of salt because we all know how faithful DS2 is to the lore), because there the ocean seems to be chipping away at the land and has overtaken much of Heide's Cathedral of Flame. Perhaps Aldritch's world is closer than anyone realizes. The other thing that is also incredibly interesting is how the game deliberately leads you to Archdragon Peak, from Irithyll and the Profaned Dungeon, both of which are Sulyvahn's territory. Your first real view of Archdragon Peak is after Sulyvahn's boss fight, and it is perfectly framed in the archway that leads to this large central viewing platform, that incidentally provides a great view of the Peak. Another similar platform is a short ways off and near the Giants. This has to be deliberate placement. The last good look, and where we find our way to Archdragon Peak, is in the Dungeons and where we can meditate to be taken away. Why would Sulyvahn allow his followers to have such a great and unobstructed view of Archdragon Peak? Why is it showcased in such a way in the archway, and why have several large viewing platforms? Why allow the statues of the meditated dragon worshippers to exist in the Dungeons if they are not affiliated in some way? I think there is more here than we realize. It is also possible he knows of the existence of the Firstborn Son of Gwynn and is trying to find a means of getting his followers and Aldritch there, for obvious reasons, to establish a means to attack. His goals always seem more malicious than friendly.

I hadn't considered Aldritch having been Klimt, I like this idea a lot. Nor had I considered him being reborn from Rosaria, let alone being her first(to be re)born. Really compelling especially considering the shape of her "children" who have been reborn too many times. I definitely think Lothric is still a likely candidate for pretty much the same reasons Aldritch is, to keep his secret. In Lothric's case, the grand betrayal and/or the atrocities committed to Rosaria in the name of a perfect heir. But there's something very physically striking about Rosaria's bedchambers that I've never heard mentioned that lends itself to Aldritch's presence one way or another. The bent bars in the space closest to her, and the severely bent gate/bars that would've otherwise seemingly imprisoned Rosaria. The way these things are bent are, to me, clearly to make room for Aldritch's cylindrical gluttonous body. Also, who tf pinned all those worm-babies to the wall? How? What vantage point did they need?? what weapon could do this??? Still a mystery to me... Another possibility for who that large man-grub is. It's clearly someone Rosaria cares for, if she has much of a mind left after all her trauma... Could it be Gertrude? We don't see Gertrude anywhere in the game. Just a thought. Lastly, the hollow priest up the elevator from the cathedral bonfire and up the ladder from the crossbow wielding hollow... the one wielding the Deep Ring... it's very peculiar that he doesn't aggro even when attacked. Thank you once again Ashy, can I call you Ashy? - lore manic fan

I have a theory about the "age of the deep seas": there is some evidence that the deep is similar to the abyss, which can be interpreted as they share the same source, humanity or maybe even souls in general. But the deep is far more "beasty" and twisted in nature, than the abyss created by Manus. In fact, the term "deep" is also used in not 1, but 2 other soulsborne games: ds2 and bloodborne. In ds2, it was referred as the birthplace of great sea creatures, which were hunted by pirates of no-man's wharf. In bloodborne, it's know as the realm of the great old ones, and it's also referred as "deep seas" or "deep ocean". Again, very much lovecraftian in style... but this theme is also used to represent another being, who created a deep fog around the world: the old one, from demon's souls. I have a theory: can be that this particular old one, which engulfed the world in fog, which eated all souls and created great beings, is still alive? This means that... The deep IS his creation, to trick and lure souls into his maw, into the "bedrock of this world"... Again, it's just a theory, but as a theory, it hold ground.
@istolethispfpfromreddit4 жыл бұрын
Remember that the old one from demon's souls is considered the source of miracles and sorcery, as well pyromancies. For me, this is a good point.
@TheAshenHollow4 жыл бұрын

@istolethispfpfromreddit4 жыл бұрын
@Sab0t3ur it's perfectly plausible that Manus is the furtive pygmy, but we have no evidence about this, because the furtive pygmy will always be hidden: maybe that's the point, but I don't know. Anyway, Manus created the abyss, but with the presence of the deep and the visions of deep seas we have enough material to say that any humanity, if stimulated enough with physical and psychological torture, can react and create a "bridge" to this darkness below. Manus was the first, so he is the rightful "father of the abyss" in a metaphorical way. Maybe the deep was born with the same method, but it's strange we find no one similar to Manus.

So if Rosaria is indeed Gwynevere and the nameless king is her first born son, he cut her tongue out after being cast out of the annals of history for helping the dragons, Gwyn sacrificed himself and Gwynevere had more children and then supposedly left to the cathedral of the deep to become Rosaria after leaving an illusion of herself and started the covenant of Rosarias fingers where the servants would collect tongues for her, If this is the true way the story happened then I wanna know, are her servants aware she was previously Gwynevere, why did the deep let her reside in the cathedral of they begun practicing sorceries/dark sorceries, were her children aware of where she went ?

@@jacobhoover1654 interesting theory! Then explain why outside of Rosaria there is a mess of a war
@istolethispfpfromreddit4 жыл бұрын
@@jacobhoover1654 I think not. We find a grub in the archive's, near the gertrude cage. Grubs itself spawn a trident with white feather, which is a thing associated with lothric, gertrude and "the angels". I know you can get a gwynevere miracle from Rosaria's soul; but this can mean that she is the daughter of gwynevere, and not the big lady herself. So, a possibility is that Rosaria is Gertrude (who has changed name to avoid persecution and suspects) and Aldritch, who sought to devour the gods, has discovered this and he attempted to eat a god of the old royal family. That's why outside of Rosaria we find dead corpses and the door closed. For more info, watch the vaativydia video about tha angels, I agree with his theory.
@istolethispfpfromreddit4 жыл бұрын
@@jacobhoover1654 the feather's must be the key. If not, why they show up in the trident, in the pillars of light miracles, AND on the Prince Lothric sword weapon art? How did I miss that, its basically a one to one of the elder sign like how the hunters mark is to the brand of sacrifice Great video however Time is not convoluted as the english says, time is stagnant. When you take the time to be stagnant everything about the timeline starts to make more sense. It's why the Ringed City did not change, it's why heroes fade in and out. It's why we can see different events happening.
@Ruhrich924 жыл бұрын
Makes the bonfire lore make way more sense too. If every instance of us appearing at a bonfire is the same moment in time. Eventually, you progress from start to finish in a single moment-1 instance-even if you technically stop at the bonfires which resets all the enemies, because its the same moment in time-except now YOU have somehow changed where you exist in time. Through the power of flame, disparity can occur. Change. Time can progress. This also adds a whole new layer to humanity and souls as a whole. If everytime time is reset to the same moment, yet you retained the souls of the same hollows who stand behind you now-still in their own moment of time. The idea of an endless-limitless soul begins to appear, and yet, through our power of flame and change-we create the hollows both forward and backwards in time. The undead curse that is unstoppable? Its the playerbase progressing through the game, collecting all the souls in a single moment of time, and creating hollows in our wake. Even though we percieve the past, the future, and the end of time as the very present unchanging moment. Epic.

I'm trying to rap my head around this but I'm just getting knots from thinking about this. But I did heard that it is parallel to that one Shinto Legend. She Gwenevere maybe had an important role but I guess that's why they say that the queen of lothric mysteriously disappeared. So they used Oceiros to protect the eyes of the first firekeeper using baby cry to maintain his Madness (They also used Gundyr in the same way). And Genevere/Rosaria was locked in the cathedral of the deep, which act as a "trashcan" since Aldrich became a man-eater.
