A 40/40 quality build does 20 more damage than a 66 strength build and you get less flat defense. Statistically it's just a better strength weapon with extra stats put elsewhere, you should know better than this Havel you don't even need dex for that big ass rock you call a weapon.

you get exactly 5 more flat defence and less versatility when using other weapons, AND do 20 less damage if doing 66 STR. It's, by definition, not a strength weapon if a strength build is sub-optimal.

i think From Software was a bit lazy with the scaling of all of the Ringed Knight weapons, they all have fire weapon arts, but they have no fire scaling. It would be so good wen this weapons deal extra damage, when they do the weapon art and you have good amount of lvls in fire.

the fire effect is only beneficial, it stunlocks certain enemies and it does not substract from physical dmg to have that fire on, the split is just right

now theres no weapon art buff that scales with anything, its always the same flat amount for all upgrade levels, and thats good for using it at lower soul levels. also you can't buff it with anything else so you are kinda looking a gift horse in the mouth

the paired ugs are bad but at the same time good: if your opponent has anything with perseverance or good hyper armor you are dead, but if they have a small weapon a single mistake could kill them. You also need to remember to not overswing in case the opponent knows how to roll-backstab them. Still think great club is king of the strength weapons, both for invasions and duels.

Splitleaf Greatsword is godly, at base stats to wield and 2-handed with heavy infusion it gets you a bit over 500 AR. It allows you to open up your build to so many things, kind of like the Gut's Greatsword.

Best STR weapon is with ought a doubt yhorm's spaghetti, it has huge damage and amazing reach the only downside is the stamina consumption and with the +3 choranthy ring that barley matters.

The PUGS are only good against people who either can't space, can't roll, or are forced into a situation in which they can do neither well, such as in ganks. So basically, try invading with them.

Like I said under Skillz's vid, if it preforms better damage-wise on a quality build, its a quality weapon. The only counter argument to it in the comment section of that vid is that 'if its the best weapon to use on a str build, its the best str weapon' which I think is bullshit because the best weapon to use on a 66-str build would still arguably be a heavy Falchion because its a freakin curved sword and shits on everything if you know what you're doing. Or the dark sword for that matter. But they still preform better on other builds so no-one considers em str weapons.

The latest patch made the paired greatswords virtually unusable for gank spanks and there's no point in trying a follow up L1 if you miss the first L1. May as well dodge or go for an r1

when pvpskillz said that the paired greatswords were the best strenght weapon i cringed. it's so easy to counter and it has probably the slowest initiation in the game. with the latest patch, the tracking on them has become even worse, making them pretty shitty outside of ganksquads. the real winners should be splitleaf, heavy mace and the yhorms+straight sword combo. cathedral knight greatsword will always be in my heart though.

Tbh from the comments I've read about whether or not rkpugs is a str or quality weapon and it's numbers. The damage seems to be only around 20ar, just from what I've read on peoples comments here on yt. For right now it seems a better point investment for using it on str than quality. I don't seriously know. And honestly I'm bored of str builds almost everyone is a str build lately. Quality is about the same in how often I see it. I'd like to do a str or quality build again, but don't want to cause I always run into it. For now I'm happy with my dex hexer/pyro, it's not my pvp character as far as 120 or 150 meta goes. I'm probably rare in that I have a character for each various build

I think the RKPGS's are a ton of fun to use. but you need to be VERY careful when facing an experienced duelist 1v1. very tough weapon to hit people with if your enemy knows what they're doing. they are not pure strength by any means though. definitely a quality weapon. I also think they should never have been nerfed. people had a lot of trouble with them, because they didn't understand how to combat them yet. and now that people do. they have changed their opinions, and are now saying they are a TERRIBLE weapon! the whole thing has been completely flipped.

on my dex/str/faith character if i use a str based weapon i always pick the dragonslayer great axe or the fume ultra greatsword.... those are my go to weapons especially the fugs against twin ugs LB LB LB LB. spam just stomp and put their face into the dirt works every time without getting hit :3

Also I think the Exile CGS is the best STR weapon... although it has the disadvantage of doing slash you can still have an almost guaranteed 3rd hit if your opponent either panic rolls towards you or if you time it correctly. I've notnced with 66 str and heavy infused the Exile CGS does around 400 so 400*3=1200... that's just about any phantom's health pool. Easy peasy lemon squeezy

Yhorm's Machete is the strongest strength weapon in the entire game, the stamina consumption is just much larger so while it does it's damage in large chunks the other weapons do damage consecutively. Still, if you survive a charged r2 from the machete your health and resistance have to be through the roof.

I decided to check if the Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords really was a quality weapon on mugenmonkey. At 60 str and 20 dex it scrapes about 580 AR. At 40 str and 40 Dex it gets 596 AR. *tl;dr Yes, it is in fact a quality weapon. But by only 16 AR, which is a shame.*
