I would recommend a PURE mage in gank city only if you're invading, waiting the right time to snipe the poor host, and even in that case MLGS is a strong option and an almost PURE int weapon.(Mind that without poise the wep is still good but not top tier.) What? I'm not listed as a real mage there? unsub'd ;-) Yeah, mages can only win invasions as sniper or support phantom. MLGS has some pretty strong poise + hyperarmor. The dual wield with immolation tinder seems best IMO due to the melee/range benefit. So will you do the casting circle and try the miracles and pyro builds as well? pyro + witch's lock + onyx is pretty strong....scales well with faith builds, maybe lothric GS or HS as well. Would love to see you give those casting builds a run

Well you're more a pyro-miracles guy :) The dual wield with immolation tinder is extremely stat-ring inefficient but it was cool, and having the benefit of the good MLGS 1h r1 on offhand+the tinder range was interesting, but still not worth in my opinion. And yes, I'm going to cover pyro and miracles and I have more viable ideas.

cat ring is one of the best pvp rings in the game. well, for world pvp/invading. Also, I noticed that in Ds1 more people still did world pvp despite the addition of an arena. it seems the opposite for dark souls 3, right? Pontiff's Arena (It's also called "The Pontiff Arena." I love that name BTW. I like how the community names the pvp hotspots/unofficial arenas.) is basically dead compared to its former glory. in fact, I liked it better when there wasn't an arena. unofficial arenas are so more fun. They are unpredictable unlike the arena. people will heal, decide to book it and run for the enemies, play tricks on you and some more stuff. just having the option to run and having the option to heal make it so much crazier and not just...the same thing every time. some people want a real arena so they can compete under consistent conditions, which is fine for some people and fine if that's what you want, but...I will surely miss The Pontiff Arena in its prime. RIP The Pontiff and his Arena.

WallaceRudolphWest Well at SL120, there's no invasion HOTSPOT on PC other than the arena. I'll get an invasion OR TWO in the catacombs of carthus, lothric castle (shit place to invade), and the demon ruins IF IM LUCKY. Otherwise it's a two second wait to find someone to 1v1. By late game, invading sucks hard because From threw balance out the window. There's barely any incentive as is to invade unless you just want the covenant items, which save for dark moon blade aren't even good. They made pyromancies like fucking WARMTH have a 25 FAITH REQUIREMENT. BUT NO IT'S FINE I CAN USE SACRED FLAME NO PROBLEM NO STATS NEEDED. More on late game invasions, if multiple people are using anything higher than a straight sword in power (greatsword, great hammer, great sword, axe, greataxe) then you're almost guaranteed toast. Even if just one person brings their straight sword, all they need to do is land a running/rolling/R1 and you're stunned long enough for Big Dick Carl to come do a running attack with HIS big weapon. Which lets the policeman/sunbro third phantom come do HIS running attack. The timer on Lloyd's talismans is a fucking disgrace, so is only giving us 5 of them. Summons AND invaders can now fucking chug away in PVP, as opposed to Dks 2 where only the host could until the invader was dealt with. In short, I hate the arena. I hate the stupid honorubu system that people will use, but then DMB rapier hornet lag stab you and point down. If that shit happened in the pontiff, I'd have a chance to back up and black crystal because fuck that cheese shit. I hate having 0 incentive to invade because it's so easy to summon help. There's a 5% chance you'll invade a lone host, and 95% chance you'll find a full party of phantoms. You'd might as well only invade as a mound maker because at least then you can just kill 2-3 phantoms and leave with a prize, as opposed to killing all the phantoms just to die to the host and get pointed down.

I'll add one bit to my bitchfit lmao Since there's no reason to invade, most people will run through an area, beat it, and never go back. They'll beat the game, put it down, and that'll be the end. I don't want to see that for a good game. I want it to be like dark souls 1 where there were people fighting in oolacile township until dark souls 3 DLC dropped. :(

I would have used a rapier with the Moonlight Greatsword, just in case I need a faster weapon, specifically, one which scales off of intelligence, for example, in Dark Souls 1, there was Velka's Rapier, which when compared to the Moonlight Greatsword with both at their highest reinforcement level with 50 intelligence, both are very close in attack damage. I have one important question though before I make the mistake of comparing the Velka's Rapier with the Crystal Sage's Rapier, and that is dose the Crystal Sage's Rapier scale off of intelligence as well?

Months ago I tested various lvl brackets, I've found that everything over lvl 160 is not worthy, waiting times are around 2x 120(you get way slower invasions with more "slow/dead" moments), and player pool is smaller. Add to this the fact that the majority of the people is interested in lvl 120 or so... I may try some lvl 200 episode in the future but is not high on my priority list.

Don't worry man, it happens. One advice: When you're fighting a 2h greatsword with MLGS r1 moveset(GoJ,MLGS,Firelink etc.) always time your roll well after the second hit or do a side roll, or else you may get hit by the third hit like in this case.

125. Mind I respecced after the tinder+mlgs dual wielding, couldn't go over 40 intelligence with that build. You can see the second build at 8:37 The first one is about the same but with -10 something int and less att(IIRC) and the points invested in stat requirements for the Immolation tinder (18-18 and 12 Fai, extremely stat inefficient)
