Their reasons for backstabbing is this: DS1 PVPers rarely want to really fight you. they want dark bead, wotg, or backstab city. It's sad, but true. Look at a lot of their opponents, do you see how they're just looking for the backstab half the time? I like how Bloodborne made it harder to work for the backstab as it makes pvp more entertaining when you can't just buff your weapons to infinity and beyond so that you can have a guaranteed one-shot backstab. If DS1 PVP had been more respectable, I feel the roleplayers of Omega Ornstien and Alpha Smough would have been more respectable too.

@@faragaroruga3229 he's not exactly wrong. Pvp in dark souls 1 is just underwhelming and boring when it's easy to just backstab and kill your opponent in less than 10 seconds. Combat in DS2 and DS3 is much more entertaining and actually fun to play around with. Ds1 is pretty much copy paste of meta builds. I've come across over 20 different individuals on forest pvp, all wearing the same havel armour, iron bracelets, mom mask, and either chaos or crystal great club, with the hornet ring and ring of favour and protection. And they all only ever backstab. Just that. That ain't "git gud". That's just lame exploit.

I've actually started doing this with a friend. I play as Ornstein while he is Smough. We wait outside the boss room so people can invade and when an invader appears, we run inside and then wait for them to step through the "fogdoor", which I've made of prism stones. Once he is in, we start fighting him, 2 on 1 since it's a cosplay and we're supposed to act like the bosses. I even restrict myself from backstabs and we won't heal unless the person leaves the room, since that counts as a boss reset. Though my friend doesn't seem to restrict himself from backstabs. But hey, it's Smough, it's pretty hard to play as that fat bastard. It's a lot of fun, even if it's ganking. But I guess this kind of ganking is approved of..? Maybe? Oh and yes, I actually don't even spam the R1 and try to do the R2's a lot more often. Unless we're dealing with a tryhard. Those guys ruin the fun..

Stuffy stuff Usually it refers to a person who is willing to do everything in order to win, regardless of how much it may ruin the enjoyment of the game for both themselves and the people they're playing with. Dark Souls isn't exactly a balanced game when it comes to its gear and weapons, resulting with the "game's difficulty" being determined by the stuff you use. And this applies for PvP as well, meaning you and anyone else can completely break the game at any point they want.

actually, its all in how you play if you want to have fights like that, usually me and my friend wait for someone to invade, then have which ever one of us was summoned fight off the invader while the other waits for someone else to show up, and we then get in close and switch who we are fighting at random just to screw with them :D
