It took me a while to realize that for the player to go hollow, it would mean giving up on your game and never coming back to it. Then your character would just be another hollow around a lonely bonfire.

Another metaphor to think about is the fact that no matter what you will always go hollow some day. No matter how many times you relight the flame it never ends.
@aspart28426 күн бұрын
I suppose it teaches us to enjoy life now. Our version of hollow is death we should enjoy life while we can and regardless of the difficulty of life we should push on and keep moving forward. Until we become a nameless husk of which once was human.

my best friend showed me this game. brought over his xbox to my house to play it. i bought it almost immediately after and had not yet seen the character creation screen. i listened to this song for a long time while i carefully crafted my first character. i think it was a pyromancer. almost 13 years ago. insane.

This... This is what Dark Souls is really about. Not the difficulty. Not the "Hard bur fair" reputation. Dark Souls is embodied by what this song represents. Dark Souls is about darkness. It is about helplessness and despair. But Dark Souls is also about light. It is also about fire and hope, and the will to continue. Dark Souls is filled with moments like these, the bonfires scattered throughout Lordran, the Firelink Shrine, the church housing Andre the Blacksmith, the Stone Dragon at the heart of Ash Lake, the balcony where Solaire can be found outside the Undead Parish. Each of them is a place of respite, a place of peace, a calm before the storm. This title screen, and this song, is the embodiment of that. When you boot up the game for the first time, you barely notice it. When you boot it up again during your first playthrough, you finally start to feel it, that calm and serenity. After you beat the game, and jump back in after a while, it's not just the title screen or the bonfires that emanate this feeling. It spreads to the whole game. What was once a dark, lonely place, filled with dark, dark souls, becomes a peaceful place. A place filled with Souls of Fire.

@@harrymason1090 A simple realization cured me entirely of my anxieties, and it was from the guiding words of a Hindustani man who went by Papaji. It's that this Universe, to put it absolutely simply, is motion. All motion arises from stillness. This Universe is endlessly arising phenomenon, or energy, out of an incomprehensible all-encompassing silence, stillness, emptiness. And this emptiness from which all arises, we are That. Nothing has ever happened, life is a dream. Depression and anxiety are struggles of the identity, the individual, to be free from suffering is to be free from individuality and recognize that all is Self. Studying quantum mechanics will bring about identical realizations of the nature of Self and reality, both being one and the same. The law of physics, the conservation of energy, that energy is not created nor destroyed but merely transforms is enough to come these conclusions. You are already home, there is no journey, there is no great frontier between you and salvation. There is no need even for you to do any practice, any meditation, any prayer, you do not need to follow any religion or spiritual teacher. You simply need to remember that you are already free. No effort required, enlightenment is innate. Enlightenment is the natural state of being. It is effortless.

It will make you more focused and more inclined to solve problems in your life! It will for perseverance into your existance! you will be inclined to workout, eat health, maintain a healthy relationship with you spouse, tend to your children and improve ... just like in the game! you level up in real life to face adversity ... but first you need to ''SEEK STRENGH ... the rest will follow''
