Something horrible happened in my life recently. It's been oppressively sunny, hot, and humid in my area, and it's only making it worse. The sun brings me tears. A storm would do me wonders. Storms have always given me life; the vibrance and energy and vivacity a storm brings one.

I only ever saw the sky this black once. we were sailing in middle of Lake Champlain in summer 1983, turned our heads north and this THING was coming. Fortunately we knew the lake and raced toward an enclosed gut in time. Many boats were damaged or turned over.

Must've been hell of a storm. I remember seeing the horizon go black before Katrina. It was dead quiet. Then the wind started up. I was 5 then, so I never understood just how horrible that storm really was. I just remember being in awe of the raw power. The eye even passed over us. I don't think I'll ever hear that silence ever again.

I'm not sure that I would call a mass of pitch black thunderclouds moving towards you on an empty field beautiful. More like threatening, dangerously scary, or frightening. But maybe I'm wrong, maybe being in the middle of a tornado is also your idea of a beautiful environment. I myself prefer sunshine, rainbows, bunnies, and open fields with a light breeze. I have a clear memory of a storm that looked EXACTLY like this back in 3rd grade. It was so awesome to look out the window and see that during Study Hall. It wasn't even raining yet, it was just super dark. But, as soon as I got to my sister's car, it started raining, and the clouds went from black to greyish blue. Weather like this is super rad.

I've seen really dark clouds in my area, (one of which was really recent and had the hugest hail I ever seen, had to get a windshield replaced because of it) but I have never seen one this black, that right there is a 1 of a kind storm for sure and one of the most beautiful I have seen.
