Dark To Light - PSO2NGS Melody

Yeah! The Song is only like half the video! I honestly had a hard time to trim the intro bit down as it's necessary context for the story. Anyway! Dark To Light is the first time Hidetaki Kobayashi tried to make a Song that encapsulates the whole journey of ARKS. The Lyrics, written by Akari Kaida, even refer to "You" and not to Ash which is a neat little detail~ By the way, a lot of sources online are listing incorrect lyrics for this song. I took mine directly from the OST booklett to make sure they're as accurate as possible. I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of the other websites simply sourced the lyrics one redditor wrote down by trying to listen to the song, causing a few inaccuracies. "We all are ARKS" suddenly turned into "We are arise" which frankly makes no sense and was the primary reason I even went on that booklett hunt in the first place! I always planned to cover this song in September but by sheer coincidence Chapter 7 of NGS gave me a little bit connecting tissue to start connecting some of the unanswered dots with what is happening 1000 years in the future, hence that outro. In general I'd advise anyone who is even remotely interested in NGS's story to go back and play PSO2's story mode because I have a feeling more and more plot points from that game will become relevant in the future. As for the song itself, I love it. May have to do with hearing it over and over and over when I was trying to beat Depth 100 Sodam but I liked it more each time I heard it. Gave me plenty of time to think about the lyrics too~ For me it doesn't invoke the same intensity of emotions as "Our Life, Our Scars" does but it's still a treat for the ears none the less! It also doesn't reference any story moments as much as the other song I did a Melody video on but I think that's purely due to the sheer volume of story it has to cover. For this GMV I decided to have it fade into The Whole New World portion of "Thank You" as I felt that made the entire ending more powerful! I hope you like it~ The Artwork is done by ArtistDaura. I can't help but think Shiva makes a very scary point, especially with the way the world is today. 19:45 Today's heroes can always be rejected, and very well might as well turn into tomorrow's losers when people get tired of the status quo. Like the quote : "Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times." NGS is simply the cruel reality painted by Shiva.

Thank you for this wonderfully made GMV. For a moment it made me feel like I was back at the final mission of Ep6 for the first time. It put a smile on my face. Hope to see more videos like this in the future! Perhaps Over The Universe next unless whatever SEGA's cooking up for next year produces another great song for the upcoming Dark Falz battle.

I remember getting on the JP server early in the morning wondering "How will they manage to outdo Over the Universe though?" and just straight-up getting an answer to that question. XD I actually have a Line Strike deck based on this song. Full title is too long, so it's just called "Verse 3" and includes Matoi, Hitsugi, Harriet and Persona. It was arguably my best deck, at least until the release of the new cards. Now my best deck might just be Glen Buff. XD
