It's Speed and Sp.Atk are literally the same as Alakazam. The 372-383 range doesn't include any notable threats. Zam gets CM and it isn't Ubers. And the rest of Darkrai's stats are painfully average It's gonna be OU

Darkrai will NOT go to OU because: 1. Way too strong with amazing type coverage. 2. Access to Spacial Rend, Ice Beam (Garchomp and Lando killer) , Will-O-Wisp and Taunt with 383 max speed, etc. 3. Overcentralizes the meta. Runs through almost every OU pokemon thats not invested in some defense. The only pokemon that can 1v1 Darkrai are M-Lopunny and Bisharp (dodge a Focus Blast). 4. One nasty plot is literally GG. I only see this mon dropping down to OU if Genesect returns to the tier.

Of course it still has base 135 sp atk, 125 speed, stab on one of the most spammable types in the game, with sludge bomb thunderbolt ice beam focus blast and more for coverage, decent bulk for ou, and access to nasty plot. So no tank you.

Dark void is darkrai its signature move it's what makes darkrai special. The nerve is so big that no-one will be using dark void anymore on darkrai at all, just as you don't see people running hypnosis either since it only has 60% accuracy. Dark void is rendered utterly useless which is a shame. I do think it was good to nerve dark void being a move only being used by darkrai, but now darkrai isn't a viable mon anymore in ubers. The combination of highly accurate dark void and bad dreams is what made the mon so good. Not only did they ruin the signature move of darkrai its ability therefore is rendered useless as well. I think a nerf of 70% accuracy and only being used by darkdrai would have been better. I believe darkrai has the potential now to be in OU. It's still fast, hits hard and has a diverse movepool so it might get suspect tested as well.

Dark Void being made exclusive to Darkrai would've been enough, IMO. 50% accuracy makes it even worse than Hypnosis so it should _at most_ have been reduced to 60% the same as Hypnosis. Either let Smeargle continue to have it but nerf the accuracy down to 60% same as Hypnosis OR leave it as 80% accuracy but only Darkrai can have it. I appreciate that they're trying to nerf stuff which was a bit too good before, but they're nerfing in the wrong areas with some of these things (such as messing with T-Waves accuracy when the problem was the chance of full para).

Yes it was, because Dark Void essentially gave Darkrai a guaranteed turn of setup. And being the fastest Dark type in the game, it could set up on a much wider range of threats than Breloom can. Without Dark Void, Darkrai goes from downright broken to simply dangerous.

Leech Life will be a great, reliable STAB move for the bugs that use it, but it's not suddenly the most powerful bug type move in the game with battle deciding utility attached. This nerf is really interesting. I feel as though if they had made it so only Darkrai can learn Dark Void it would solve the entire issue in VGC but since they also made it 50% accurate I feel like Darkrai might be usable in upcoming VGC events.

Neutralizing Dark Void on Smeargle was enough. The accuracy drop is Darkrai getting punished for another 'mon exploiting his signature move. Feels like Konami banning the Ice Barrier Synchros.

Dang, shade, we all thought Tapu Koko was gonna be the anti Darkrai/Smeargle but now Dark Void is gonna be kinda terrible. I'm glad, being able to put the whole team to sleep 80% is very OP. I love Sun and Moon, shaking up the competitive scene in big ways.

Ok I can understand making it so that only Darkrai can use it, but this is just retarded. In doubled, the chance of hitting two enemies is so damn low now. Heck, Darkrai was never able to be used in VGC being a Mythical pokemon, so why the hell would they nerf it so hard?! It doubles format it only has a 25% chance to hit both targets, and even in singles it only has a 50/50. If they want to nerf this so bad, it needs to at the very least inflict a new status, maybe Deep Sleep. The chance of waking up gets worse with every turn.

It still seems hilariously busted. Dark Void has a 25% chance to sleep both targets, a 50% chance to sleep one and a 25% chance to do nothing. If you want to sleep a specific target (which'd be the primary use case), it's a Hypnosis that misses 16.67% more, with a 50% upside to sleep the other guy. While I don't get how they're preventing Smeargle from using it, Dark Void is still a completely devastating move. If dark void having a miss chance made it bad, then people wouldn't have been running it over spore in the first place.

I'm for one happy this happened. Darkrai's stupidity of the move and ability together was rather borderline broken. I'm also glad Kangaskhan got nerfed too. Now I finally won't have to deal with one-click moves that shatter people's teams rather easy.

as a vgc player, thank GOODNESS for this! pokebank's release really shat all over the vgc 14 metagame because now you had to sacrifice bulk for speed to make sure important mons could outspeed postive base 70s. This mattered on mons like zapdos who dont need to outspeed anything (in '14, it was "outspeed garchomp/kang or don't bother") which had to pump in EVs just to beat the degenerate pokemon

Darkrai and its 600 BST are OU now. Congrats. No one is gonna risk wasting a turn trying to hit 50% sleep move unless Dynamicpunch becomes a thing too Literally the only way to use Dark Void now is alongside a Gravity user to bump the accuracy from 50% to 83%
