Dark vs. Bright Violin Sound

I much prefer warm tones. My 1925 antique violin is warm and I love it.

I took awhile picking my first violin as I wanted a darker one since I am a complete beginner. However, after just a few months I now wish my G string was a bit brighter.

Brighter hurt the ears if only you play cheap violin. Even strads have brighter sound😊

I agree. It seems to trigger migraines for me. Especially if I’ve already got a small headache
