Hi @ClumsyAmbivert! So the thing is, by the rules of DnD you can only attune to three items at the same time. I think she has a ring or something, not sure, the two swords, and since she came back she got that armor, so that's 4. Hence why she only has 1 sword attuned at a time, and kinda have to switch around.

Technically a character can have a level in all classes, but they would be giving up the perks you would get at higher levels in any of them(since the level cap is 20), which is why most people only go for two classes at once and very rarely three.

@@jacobmosovich Nah, it only seems that way because Rogues get high number, but with more rarity. She was in higher tier damage wise when she had Fury of the Small, but now she does around 30 damage for a sneak attack, while Yasha does ~20 damage with one strike, which she had two of. Rogues are actually pretty mediocre damage-wise, with their distinctive feature being absolutely resource independent.

So, apparently there was some shade being thrown towards Matt in the live show. A couple things I would like to put out there: Love the support from the KZbin community. Matt didn't account for every member not having armor, this encounter could have been a lot worse and they may not have even gotten topside to save him. Story-wise, these enemies are agents of an evil Leviathon and are actively trying to kill Fjord and retrieve this artifact inside him - it is only the actions of 6 other level 11 player characters that could have saved him. I thought it was wonderfully intense and totally apt that he would die and by luck (a roll of 17 on a 4th level counterspell) be able to be resurrected. It's been a while since I've felt the Mighty Nein were actually challenged in combat. All in all, fantastic episode. And, since Critical Role is meant to be a form of entertainment above most things, I was enthralled.

Caleb's failed polymorph on a creature he can "barely see" whose space is occupied by the blade barrier, yet somehow Caleb can't see the barrier but CAN see the creature? Just another example of Matt not really being No Mercy Mercer but just I Want My Encounter To Work Mercer. I will temper that with the fact that he is still a fantastic DM, but there are ways to make these encounters work by anticipating these situations (regarding LoS on a ship, movement speeds, armor classes) and having the info ready up front, without having to come across as arbitrary.

Ashley also said in that same Talks that Yasha doesn't really have a clear goal set for herself, but that could be it: She could become a famous harp player, known all over Exandria! I wouldn’t normally make a comment about it, but the live chat this episode was SOOOOO much more obnoxious than it usually is. You all need to chill with the backseat DMing and rules lawyering. Matt and the cast aren’t going to see your comments so no matter how vehemently you complain about a ruling, IT WILL CHANGE NOTHING. Yes, we might disagree with how some of this session was handled but it’s ultimately his game and his word as DM is law. On top of that, everyone coming at him for “trying to revenge TPK” the party needs to check themselves. The Gorgon fight and all the other little skirmishes they’ve gotten into before are NOT the norm for combat. Matt’s party is SEVEN lv 11 PCs. He HAS to buff encounters/monsters with extra hp and abilities to even challenge a party of that size. TLDR; chill out people, it’s just a game of dnd.

Personally I think he gave them quite a bit of leeway in that fight, like not blowing the whole boat up when Jester summoned a wall of spinning, sparking swords in a room FULL OF GUNPOWDER. My only complaint was giving the leader stun resistance. which is really unfair for Beau, since that would be like taking all of Caleb's Fireballs and Disintegration rays away. since without it she is just doing glorified D8 damage.. and stunning strike is literally the Monk's best attack/archetype ability.

On TOP of seeing Fjord go out the same way as Molly, and how SHE almost went out. In a way, it'd be a clever and genius way to incorporate such meta things into her RP.

The difference between this scene and Molly's is chilling. With Molly, they didn't think they were in any real danger until it was too late. They were overconfident and went into denial once Molly actually died. Here, they know what's happening because they've lived it before and they still can't do anything but watch.

After the Nott and Cad revives and how many turns passed since Fjord died I lost all sense of worry about it. Molly we knew there was no coming back hit with Fjord it’s like eh whatever.

They don’t know what evils to watch out for in the Assembly, but they know Caleb. Caleb is the animal who knows the storm. Also cool bc it’s the second time Fjord has outright told Caleb “I trust your judgement, you’re the one I’ll look to when trying to gauge a situation”. First time was with Avantika, Fjord basically said “when you think the moment is right or things go too far, make your move and I’ll follow your lead”. Rly cool because Caleb is very cautious, but also very decisive with calculated risks. Meanwhile, Fjord is impulsive but tends to second-guess himself. It’s cool to see how Fjord has set aside his ego to rely on those around him when he feels outmatched.

Caleb is calculated and very intelligent, and Fjord relies on his instincts for those things. One of my favorite things about the character.

Hmmm, curious as to how they would rule on this. I know they have limited diamond supplies for revivals...But Jester has a VERY expensive Diamond dust tattoo. It's been said a million times before but just watching that long scene on the ship between Caleb and Fjord, I just love the space each of the actors give to their scene partners. There are 6 other personalities around the table but they all sit there quietly and respectfully, waiting and listening for it to draw to a natural and satisfying conclusion, and then they're ready with the little comedy button to tie it off when it's appropriate. Just absolutely marvelous skill in storytelling. Truly delightful to watch.

There’s a thought that’s been itching at me. Ves Derogna has been referenced a lot for a character that they’ve never directly spoken to. And everything we know about her points to her being shifty and ruthless in using others for her own gain(eg threatening Yeza and Luc for Beacon research). What if she’s the ‘woman from Rexxentrum’ that Cree told Molly about, the mage who messed with Lucian’s ritual to get the book. It’s not like Matt to have a thread that doesn’t connect in multiple places, like the Hag, or the Cerberus Assembly and Yeza. Plus we know from Yasha that Matt has a knack for using characters whose backstories feature ‘lost time’ to stir up all sorts of drama, and the majority of Molly’s backstory is lost time with a lot of potential for drama.

Matt is a very good dm. Making characters interlink and cameo just right, in "realistic" ways. Its what makes him The DM God. Meanwhile Im just starting off my third campaign, That is an Fallout style campaign set in Kentucky... My party will mos likely make another Mr Chirps companion.
