Tbf, they quite routinely muddle up the advantage vs sneak attack rules in campaign one as well (or at least early on as that’s where I’m up to in my watch through). I think you can get advantage from flanking (opposite sides) in general but just being next to the target only allows for sneak attack, if the rogue doesn’t already have advantage to give it.

Beginning at 1st level, you know how to strike subtly and exploit a foe’s distraction. Once per turn, you can deal an extra Xd6 damage (based om rogue level) to one creature you hit with an attack if you have advantage on the attack roll. The attack must use a finesse or a ranged weapon. You don’t need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it, that enemy isn’t incapacitated, and you don’t have disadvantage on the attack roll.

Nobody pointed this out so here i go. 2:36:25 i think this is a perfect roleplay moment from Laura. Jester has basically been told that the figure she believes in to be a god is not a god and in fact just a guy who can't be always present. This is her first fight with that knowledge and she is yelling out what she is about to do with uncertainty as if she doesn't know if the traveler is even around to help her cast spiritual guardian. She feels like she needs to yell her command and hold out his symbol to gain his attention. It's a shift from 100% believing in her god to not really being sure about it. I've always loved how Laura plays Jester but i think she is killing i this last few episodes

So with polymorph you actually take on the intelligence, wisdom, and charisma of the creature as well (unlike druid wildshape where you only take on the strength, dexterity, and Constitution). To me it seems like Caleb chooses creatures with intelligence too low to even know what depression or PTSD even is much less be affected by it. Not exactly a healthy way of handling mental illness, but effective I suppose. Just my opinion.

I remember back when I first watched this episode live, when Taliesin described what a jester was, no one agreed that his description was correct. So this comment is for those who come by thinking the same thing. A court jester was known to be able to show the truth with their comedic performances to the nobles and higher-ups. Heck, a job like a jester would most likely be a commoner's job if it weren't important but it was a job given to some of the most trusted noble families. There's even an old saying that goes something like, "The only ones who can tell the truth to the King is the court jester." Probably butchered the saying, but it is a real thing. So just figured I'd write this out in case anyone was curious about it.

Look I think we need to take a minute to appreciate Caleb here. What Jester needs right now is support, and for her to figure out what she wants. If that’s leave the Traveler, fine. @@sepho3070 It can be as few as ten if you ask me, though I think it is more a mindset than a number. For example, a coven is a small group of likeminded spiritual individuals. However, it is different from a cult in that while there may or may not be a leader, each individual is equal to the other in terms of value and participation. Whereas a cult is usually set up as one person being held up by others, where in anyone that is not the leader is essentially a cog in a machine running to elevate the leader, savvy? As for your question of Artagan’s divinity, that was communicated through implication if I remember correctly. Artagan was building connections to multiple people to the point where he could hear and was capable of answering their prayers, giving him a certain aspect of godhood. I believe it was implied that had he continued on this path, he would have eventually ascended to a deity status like Vecna or the various Gods of Death have. But he stopped it because it meant he had to be responsible, and gods forbid that XD hope that helps.

Artagan was SUCH a fun character and i always felt like he didn't get played with enough in the first campaign- especially since vox machina didn't really like him (despite the fact that he considered them like, his only friends). im so excited to see more of him and his personality! he is... extremely expressive

He literally became her only friend for 20 years, gave her vast powers (like, you know, resurrecting people at will), which help her travel and do stuff she likes. She was able to find friends and her father because of it, too. In exchange for faith and some illegal pranks. And she started it, it makes sense. You know, people are allowed to keep secrets to themselves. Even if he actually had told her he's a god, that doesn't change much. Because he basically is. Especially, for her. It's a good way to describe his powers to a young mind in an understandable way. Calling him "toxic" is dumb and a typical example of wrong usage, which this word sees so much of.
