Another great video Guido. Especially liked your mushroom shots. Your selfie was a fun shot as well. The colours in your woodlands are stunning. The greens are stunning really lush and fresh. ❤ So envious of those greens, our bushland at least where I live are quite as vibrant, more of a muted olive green. Your lighting choices as always were superb those first few shots were exquisite. Thanks again for sharing your slice of the world.🙂🙂

Thank you so much nicoline. I never realised that the colour green changes ij other parts of the world but it is very logical actually. And here am i complaining that autumn colours aren't kicking in yet...I was lucky with that beautiful light in the beginning. Never seen anything like it before. Thanks for watching 🙂 grt guido

When I was in Europe many moons ago, I noticed the colour of the grasses, such vibrant and lush greens. Much of the Australian bush has much darker greens, perhaps it has something to do with our much drier climate. Introduced vegetation can be quite lush if watered well. We are half way through spring here and it should lovely, but it’s very dry, without much rain over winter we are heading into a very hot and dry summer. Green will be hard to come by in some areas. 😊

Hi Guido, just picked you up on KZbin and I hope to go through your videos in the next couple of weeks. I'm from the Republic of Ireland and your approach is different and relaxing. Your photos aren't back either 😂📷👍 Ps I prefer the first of those three shots. I also love the shot of the three cattle I your later forest video 👌

Hi, thank you very much and welcome to the channel that's nice to hear. I preferred the middle image myself but I will go back when there is some fog one day. The cattle shot in the forest was a nice surprise indeed. One of those lucky moments. I was just watching some videos recorded in Ireland by other youtubers and I realy have to go there some day. Looks like a country that perfectly suits my kind of photography and as far as I always hear very friendly people 🙂 grt guido

Great video Guido. Love Speulderbos, and you made stunning photo's of it!! Thank you for the great tips, hopefully this week I will visit some woodlands too and sure use your tips! My favourite of the three photo's is the second (middle) photo. This gives a great separation, but sitll can see some of the background...

Funny I was so sure about the square one but like you I also like the vertical shot best. But still there was something more in there. Maybe I'll go back on a moody misty morning. Good luck with the woodlands! I always struggle with finding the realy old nearly trees in the netherlands so If you know some let me know 😉 thsnks for watching grt guido

That was incredible dude! Iiked the self portraits it’s the kind of shot I’d take in such an area 😁 but man, you do woodland so well, I think i liked the portrait shot or the underexposed square. The vibe and mood is just ride and the color contrast was pleasing on browns and greens. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Go back here when the red leaves come! Thanks for sharing man.

Thank you that is a nice compliment. I always think woodland is a bit of a week spot but I have figured that the problem is much more the conditions that are not the best. But recently did a lot of woodlands and thing are starting to get better. Thanks for watching and you comment I realy apreciate it! Grt guido

There are lots of mushrooms here. We are actualy missing out on autumn colours. Somehow we skipped the yellow and red and just go straight to brown. Must be something with the weather. Thabks for watching apreciate it 🙂 grt guido

@@GuidoVanDeWater Yeap, I can tell you in my country it is weird too.. Still are greens, or dark brown, but are a few yellows areas but it is not as big and the same as in previous 2022 year. Now I feel like, some trees are "forward in time", and some are "behind" that time, and when ones are green, the others are brown, and then these that are yellow, the others have already no leaves at all... That was pretty cool summer, so maybe it didn't catch the autumn so fast.

Hello Guido Nice woodland walk and all your images looks good. About your question. I like the third one, square and under exposed :-). I hope you will have fog if you walk through this forest next time ;-). Grt Ernesto
@GuidoVanDeWater Жыл бұрын
Thanks Ernesto, if I'm here when it's foggy I will definitely take that square image again I think it will improve a lot. Hopefully autumn colours will appear soon also but for now it just looks like we are skipping autumn. Everything turn brown immediately instead of vibrant red and yellows. Thanks for watching 🙂 grt guido

Nice video Guido, I love the Speulderbos with all its dancing beech trees. You have some nice shots here. And you’re right, best to practice before autumn colors kick in. How about the Wolfheze Heide as practice area, you know it?

Hi Wim, thanks for watching and your comment. I never heard of the wolfheze heide before but that looks promissing! If I google it some amazing old trees appear and its about 15 to 20 minutes from my house so I will definitely check it out! Thanks for the tip! Grt guido

@theflyingdutchman7127 Жыл бұрын
@GuidoVanDeWater Жыл бұрын

Good video, thanks. I prefer the version in the middle, at 11:32. And the mushroom shot at 8:00 is very nice, an instance where imo focus stacking would not have made the photo better.
@GuidoVanDeWater11 ай бұрын
Yes, you are right about the focus stacking. I just took a quick handheld shot, but i thought it wasn't worth the effort. When I looked at it on the computer it looked wat better then I expected. Thanks for watching and your kind words inapreciate it 😊 grt guido

By the way, does in camera photo stacking work on your OM-1? Not bracketing, photo stacking. I have never been able to get a sharp photo using photo stacking on my OMD E-M1iii. @@GuidoVanDeWater
@GuidoVanDeWater11 ай бұрын
@MarkNF1 yes you can do an in body focus stack but I have never tried to do it myself. Being more of a landscape photographer I don't do much stacking. If I stack it usualy is 2 to 3 shots maximum and I always let photoshop do its magic automatically. But there are multiple videos out there that show how to do it on the om-1. Grt guido

Focus bracketing works with PS, in camera focus stacking does not. Anyway, I look forward to your Dec 8th presentation at our local photo group.@@GuidoVanDeWater

Doesn't matter if it's sun or bad weather, it is always good to move ass around and get even a few decent photographs to the collection :D Guido, could I ask how do you see 12-40 mm PRO mark II weather sealing? As primes and OM-1 probably couldnt be destroyed by rain or snow or dust (?) but how it is with zoom lenses? It is still moving tube, and when you zoom out at the rain, and zoom in these drops inside, would not it damage the camera? What do you think about that? You think it's more luck with buying a good product or valid one that can have some issues to keep water out or something? Would you use this combination at the rain? Or you still try to protect it from outside with some covers?
@GuidoVanDeWater Жыл бұрын
Yeah always worth it to go out for photography 🙂 I don't thibk the weather sealing of the prime lenses is any different then the zoom lenses. It's all full weather sealed as fat is I know. I have the 12-40 pro mark1 and the weather sealing of the mark 2 is one of the thing that improved. But to answer your question I have never for a second doubted about olympus / om system weather sealing. Its by far the best in the business. I've walked trough tropical rain storms in sumatra 10 years ago with my e3 and everything was soaked. The only lens that haf a problem was the sigma 150 macro... if my camera gets realy dirty after a photoshoot I even sometimes put it under the tab to flush away the dust and dirt. Just dry it of and everything is ok. And yes you see water on the zoomed part when you zoom in and out but it never hurt my camera or lens. It just dries and doesn't seem to leave a trace. So as far as I am concerned don't worry about it as long as you use the pro line stuf with weather sealing. Grt guido
