First time in the DZ, a couple players were just hanging out outside the checkpoint, talking, laughing, sharing stories. I thought to myself, “Wow, the DZ seems really chill.” I kept it moving, exploring, looking for things to do, loot to gather. I came across a named elite. I whooped its ass and was about to collect my first loot drop when I noticed someone running towards me. I quickly recognized one of the players from the checkpoint earlier. So I didn’t shoot. But they did. The guy said, “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t following you.” Challenge accepted 🤬 Not taking anymore prisoners next time in the DZ

Yeah you never know what you're going to get in the DZ. You'll run into really chill people and also absolute maniacs. A lot of players purposely act toxic or do stuff like following you to make you mad. Making people mad in the DZ is how a lot of team fights start, which is what pvper's want. Once you get more experience then you'll be able to swap builds and get revenge on those kind of players.

I experienced the same. Thought the same. Shoot everyone. But: I run yesterday in a dude, both of us did PvE. He looked at me with the gun, I looked at him. Both thought the same. Waiting. Nothing happend. Suddenly he invited me and we did 2 hours of PvE and little defending PvP in the DZ. These standoffs I love in Division 2. No hunt showdown can give these moments (mostly) :-D

I'm kinda sad that streamers and KZbinrs haven't taken this opportunity in this game. Trust me I know all about going into the dz and fighting a whole squad that goes rogue. But I specifically went into the dz with no intent on pvp. So as soon as I spawned in I noticed someone had just entered the dz seconds before me. So I followed him. As soon as he started a landmark I turned on my mic. I let him know I was following him from the beginning and if he was interested in teaming up. The whole day ended up like that. Just running around asking people if they'd want to team. I'm now part of a clan.

Farming in the DZ sucks if you're a PVE player by nature. Can't tell you how many times I picked up great gear only to have it taken by players who only prey on others. If You don't run with a solid team in the DZ, but still want to farm, what I recommend is, as soon as you enter the DZ, I start looking for nearby agents by going to your social window and invite them to the group. You don't have to have a pulse to scan for nearby agents. All you have to do is push the options button and go to social and it will reveal nearby agents. And then just click on that nearby agent and then invite them to the group. Within minutes I'll have a whole team of other solos.

The most fun I've had in the game has been in the DZ and I'm pretty average at pvp in this game. Team up with people you meet in there, use in-game chat, and don't get made when you die.

Yeah I hear you, it's actually pretty easy to get into solo or low population DZ for the South DZ and the NW DZ. If you run into a big group then try another DZ and keep in mind it really doesn't matter if you get killed because the loot is subpar at anyway.

The dark zone is fun especially when u team up with players. You can meet them in the world , and form a group then u can take on Landmarks together. It's so much fun, i have recently found out how average the loot is in the DZ , a surprising move from the developers, why did they decide to have average loot in a mode that's based around extracting loot and surviving.. weird the best gear should have been at the DZ to motivate players to get into DZ. What a missed opportunity

I agree, I love the DZ, it’s all I play any more. When The Division 1 launched the DZ was great for loot, but a ton of pve players complained about being forced to go there for loot when they didn’t want to. So the loot quality got nerfed hard and they kept it that way when Division 2 launched. I wish DZ rewarded pvp focused gear, that’d be a welcome change.

@@4AMSession to be honest i disagree with the player base who played division 1 , DZ should have superior loot because that's the goal here, extracting good gear. It makes the experience more meaningful. They felt that the game forced them to go to DZ ? The right word to use is tempted, the game should tempt players to go ahead and play the best multiplayer mode in a looter shooter , i don't think that's wrong.

@@4AMSession btw ur right about PvP rewards in DZ. I am glad u mentioned PvP, how do u identify PvP gear ? Do you have any idea how to compete in PvP ? My guns turn to peashooters against other online players especially in conflict and the online enemies kill me in 2 seconds. The experience punishes new players, it's totally unbalanced. The worst part is that some of these PvP veterans troll you when they kill you , it sucks they just won because they have superior gear not skills.

@@themanbehindthescreen8226 pvp builds and gear are kind of hard to explain because it depends on what build you're going for. In short, high rpm weapons are good (vector, lady death, famas) and you probably should run around 1.5 million armor, plus a shield. I'm still learning about pvp so I'm not qualified yet to make a pvp build video. Watch a couple DZ build videos and you'll start to recognize certain build aspects that are being used.

In terms of gear drops yes its about the same in the regular game, but there's a higher chance of legendary gear. Also you get an xp boost. Just an hour or 2 in the dz and you'll lvl up fast. Also if you die and you haven't extracted or left the dz then you'll lose some of your xp gain. Avoiding hostle players is a bit tricky but just looking at your map and paying attention when and how many people go rogue can really help you pin point where the douches of the dz are prowling around.

In summit is possible to obtain almost all gear manufactures, but system corruption and yaahl gear not Yaahl can be found in dz or sometimes buy at vendors ( dz or normal) Corruption is possible get from dz like loot or from dz crates or now from this Season

Why does no one matchmake into DZ groups anymore? The DZ is unforgiving to solos, but it is a great source of loot in general, xp for watch leveling, dz proficiency caches and of course, DZ specific loot. And all you have to do is go in as a team of 4 and your chances of having a good time sky rocket.

Yeah it's rough as a solo sometimes, especially if you aren't experienced and groups will steam roll a lobby. But when you have a good lobby and have some fun fights then it feels worth it. It's not for everyone but I've had some of my best moments in the game while in the DZ.

The people who rule the Darkzone have been there since day one and absolutely curb stomp you before you have a chance to learn anything from the encounter or get any practice fighting against other players. I did terrible there and it wasn't very fun to not even stand a chance. Oh well. I think most online games are this way. If you're not playing 24/7 from day one, you won't ever be good. Don't even think about trying to matchmake. Nobody will join you. I'm farming PVP equipment and I'm trying to fight as many enemies in the Lightzone "out of cover" as I can to get accustomed to out of cover combat. (Since none of the things that make you a good PVE player help you at all in PVP.) It's been a learning experience. I'm doing all of this while farming Lady Death. I've killed about 60 of the overworld bosses in NY on Challenging and no luck. Is there a way to mute others in the Darkzone? I really don't want to listen to people who PVP 24/7 talk shit about me because I'm trying to get better. It really makes me angry. For Division 3, I recommend Ubisoft make it so that you take CONSIDERABLY less damage when "in cover" up until others are about two feet away from you. This would encourage people to use cover so that PVE and PVP don't have to be completely different. It was upsetting to get really good at PVE and find out it didn't help at all in PVP. I felt very cheated and that it was a waste of time. They need to do a better job with Division 3. The community definitely thinks less of you if you're not good at PVP and just prefer PVE. It makes me want to not play the game at all. It's like the game was designed to make you feel bad about yourself.

The toughest thing is finding a good DZ lobby, keep jumping between DZ’s if a group is stomping everyone. Also if there are solo’s or duo’s who don’t shoot you on sight then ask if they want to team up. You can still get better and make plays, there’s plenty of average players in the DZ but you need to be ok with dying a lot. You really need to have a strong build and to play to the strength of your build if you want to win fights. I’ve been farming for LD for 4 months and it won’t drop, it’s extremely annoying at this point. Disable VOIP in the audio settings, that’ll mute everyone in the DZ except for your group. Lastly, if you’re on pc then I’d gladly team up for some DZ or farming runs.

When they added the SHD watch they over killed It. Cuz now If your SHD watch Is not at level 1000 you’re basically done(not speaking In terms of having a chance.) you will be put down In less than 4 seconds. The other crazy part about It Is you’re not allowed to hide your level from other players so If they see that you are a low level they will go after you 70% of the time. But atleast they are kind enough to let you know that you will be killed because what they do Is they pulse you so they know where you are at.

That's definitely annoying, I do material gathering runs in the DZ and get a jumped a lot. Don't farm gear in the DZ, the rolls are absolute trash. You're better off farming gear in PVE then going into the DZ to test how good your build is.

When you hack an shd terminal in the dark zone you are supposed to go rogue and gray skull icons are supposed to appear telling where other terminals or dark zone loot boxes are. When I hack one the grey skull icon never appears. I also don’t get any e credits. Would you happen to know why this is happening?

Hey just a shout out to those who run with a squad and aren't meanies. If you see a squad going hostile and they extracting. Make sure they aren't just bullying solos that are passing by. I noticed that with my squad. Just followed this solo who got "too close" to this squad of 3 and they gunned him down. Ended up chasing the squad and killing one while the others got away. You mentioned it wrong regarding loot some of the loot with perfect talent variants like perfect vigilance,emperor guards kneepads,claws out holster are only exclusive to drop in dark zone. Still you can maybe wait and buy at dz vendor which however requires dz credits.

Bout to go in for the first time and hearing there will only be pve for the first time is a good thing to hear, however when i do start pvping is there any kind of balancing for if someone is level 1k and im only 16? Low level players will be in the same DZ instance together. Once you reach a higher level you'll be matched against max level players. Expect to die a lot but there's basically no downside to dying since the DZ loot is garbage. Team up with people when you can and it'll be a lot more fun.

I was running 2 providence defense, 1 grupo sombra, 1 fenris group, 1 walker & harris, and the Memento backpack. Famas and MPX were the guns and obliterate as the chest talent. It's definitely NOT a pvp build but for pve heroic activities it'll give you a good amount of damage.

For solo DZ runs I use a meta SMG build: Lady Death or Vector with In-Sync, M870 shotgun with In-Sync, Fox's Prayer knee pads, Contractor's gloves, Matador named backpack with Perfect Adrenaline Rush, Sokolov chest with Intimidate, then 1 piece of Providence Defense for 15% headshot dmg, and 1 piece Grupo Sombra for 15% Crit dmg. Armor on 3 armor pieces which gives me 1.3 million armor, for skills I use decoy and the Striker shield.

There’s a mode called Conflict which is like typical multiplayer in other games. Small map, matchmaking, and it’s 4v4. I prefer the DZ over Conflict any day. The DZ is an end game activity, there’s no sbmm. You need to have a good build or else you’re going to lose most fights. It’s going to be difficult for new players but it’s a ton of fun when you win fights.

Yup, burn, blind and emp work in PVP. I haven't made a build for it but you should look up a "status effect" build video. Some of those builds can dominate meta gear players.

yeah there's still DZ exclusive drops, the Murakami kneepads are only obtainable in the DZ. There's a couple more named items that are DZ exclusive as well.

@@4AMSession So the information around 8:00 regarding the summit is not correct. It´s not possible to collect Yaahl gear in summit. And there are some named items, that are DZ exclusive. DZ would be a nice gaming experience if people wouldn´t be that toxic. Still trying to get the Emperor Guard knees, but somebody always shoots me. You just have to aware of the toxic people in DZ and adjust your expectations accordingly :)

Try farming strongholds, they may have a chance to drop higher gear score items, but I'm not 100% sure on that. I have the Warlords dlc so gear score doesn't exist for players with the dlc.

ideas like the dark zone are totally stupid on devs part. unless everyone scales no matter gear. first timers should not have to endure bullshit hazing till they get all the perks or build proper gear set. or get a mob of friends to go with. dz are the most stupid thing about div 2

That's the best part, keep running back to the fight after you die. Eventually if you win the fight then it feels worth it. I actually love the DZ despite the loot being trash and toxic players.

the DZ is the best place to loot. Cutting rope of a group of 3-4 farmers is way much faster and rewarding than any other content in the game.

You forgot to mention the players who camp the CPs and call them selves "good" lol. Oh yeah the countless skill builds garbage players use and say "eaaaaasy 1v1" as they are 50+ yards away not shooting their weapon at all lol. What else is missing? Ah yes, the shit talkers who run their mouth in a 4 man group but seem to get oddly quiet after you wipe their team and leave them alone. 🤣

Yeah some days the DZ can be miserable. If I run into any of the stuff you listed I just switch DZ's or don't play the DZ that day because it's not worth dealing with those kind of players. I turned voip off which helps as well.
