Johto really was the end of the classic era, Misty stopped being a regular travelling companion, Ash stopped wearing his classic attire and Ash's Pokemon from Kanto/Johto wouldn't be a regular part of the anime anymore

Yeah, definitely the end of such a long journey. So bittersweet, but it makes the moments in the battle frontier when his older Pokémon return all the sweeter

Huh, it seems pretty clear that Season 1 was pretty much a testing ground more than anything, But it’s still interesting to see how much the Anime ended up developing alongside Satoshi/Ash beyond this point. By the way, did we really get nothing out of the GS Ball Plot Point? Also, it seems like Takeshi will finally get his wish regarding changing the Main Character and stuff like that, let’s how that will turn out.

Yeah, Takeshi will finally get his wish, somewhat. Seems like Ash won’t completely be gone. And yeah, season 1 was a rough draft you could say. And yeah, nothing came from the GS ball plot point. They gave it to Kurt and then never saw it again

Oh wow, this was a really good and thought out review! I know as time passes, more and more people are starting to forget anything from the beginning and I do agree on a lot of the things you said. Especially how characters such as Misty and Gary were not fleshed out as well. Of course the battles were not fleshed out well until Orange Islands and Johto. I am looking forward for your later videos and what you come up with ^^

I think objectively it does indeed hold up well but is not perfect. Misty was fleshed out really well at first too.

Did you write and read a script for this? You sound noticeably more eloquent with the way that you speak than you do in videos where you're on screen and talk extemporaneously. Nice job :) I think having scripts for your videos will make your content a lot better. A lot of our favorite Pokemon KZbinrs definitely use scripts which is one of the many reasons why they're so well received in the community. This is a big quality improvement for your content, and so I hope that this becomes a regularity.

Yes i actually wrote a script for this one. Trust me, a script was very much needed for a project as big as this lol. In the past I've never been one for writing scripts for videos since I preferred talking off the cuff, and I still do for some videos. But more and more for big projects like this I'll be writing scripts now. Thank you for the kind words and noticing the change in my speaking!! ^_^

I didn’t consider the sub as much for this first part since I’ve only seen certain moments in sub, but the sub will be highly considered for at least XYZ, SM & JN. Also I know I’ve seen the original 1st movie trailer at least 2x, but it’s been quite a while and I can’t really recall what it was like.

i mean isnt the original series ONLY kanto? i'm pretty sure orange islands and johto journeys is its own series techncially

technically Kanto, Orange Islands and Johto are all 1 saga/series. they all flow into the next perfectly, but Ash's ending in Johto signifies the ending his first long journey. sure, they're separate regions and seasons, but it's all 1 series.
