Dark Glass stuff is amazing. I have a couple of their bass pedals, and they are by far the best pieces of equipment I've ever used. Once my Hartke head has served it's purpose, one of the Microtubes 900 will be my choice! Thanks guys!
@harryws35426 жыл бұрын
I have the 900 with the 4x10 and it totally blew me away - it also blew my bank account but yeah, it sounds fantastic. Best distortion on bass I’ve ever heard and it is actually impossible to dial in a bad tone on the amp!
@bengoddard33286 жыл бұрын
does it sound good at low volume? struggling to choose between 900 & 410 or 500 & 210 as will mainly use in house but want additional head room too.
@harryws35426 жыл бұрын
Ben Goddard Yeah it sounds great at any volume really - obviously it excels when it’s cranked a bit but it definitely still sounds good when it’s set to

Nathan is there any form of guitar that you can't play like the best of them? 🎸😁 Your guitar playing in the opening jam was spectacular! Lee, your bass playing was equally spectacular as usual ... and the entertainment value was excellent, again as usual. I play guitar but regularly watch the bass channel for the playing and banter ... thanks chaps 🤓

Little bit of wrong information. The microtubes 900 includes the intelligent footswitch, with switches between a clean tone and one of the different distortion engines, and can also mute the amp. But, you can purchase the SUPER intelligent footswitch which can go between the clean tone, vintage microtubes, and b3k circuits and mute the amp.

I think the 500 watt version is really more practical for the gigging bass player that is primarily using a single 4 ohm cab. Like most of us regular folk who don’t have a roadie or an artist endorsement lol. 👍✌️

Should have compared the 2x10 against the 4x10, my 2x10 Eden kills the 4x10 in tone and punch,I just use the bigger cab for moving air. Should play a standard bass to begin with that Spector will sound good through most anything. Sorry I should have started with the compliments, nice playing guys nice demo.

Love the channel, Love your playing, but why back the treble off on the bass? Surely a good place to start is 12 o'clock on everything? Killed the sound of that bass. You're not the only ones who do this, it's an epidemic. There's more to bass than a generic p bass or j Bass sound. Please don't think I'm trolling, I'm just at the end of my rope where there are some really impressive basses, Amps, and players (such as yourselves) all doing their best to make them sound precisely the same as a D. I.'d fender in 1977.
@gentlewolf12796 жыл бұрын
Watch the videos of Adam "Nolly" Getgood playing through this gear... super punchy and aggressive.
@insanerotta53326 жыл бұрын
There is no 12 o'clock on the Spector active preamp. It's boost ONLY. The sensible thing would've been to roll down to zero for no treble or bass boost. Spector basses seem louder because people are used to having things at 12 o'clock and at that point you're already boosting bass n treb for like +6 to 8 db...
@Juxtaposed1Nmotion6 жыл бұрын

@m00plank906 жыл бұрын
Insane Rotta I think you Misunderstood, I have a spector, and it doesn't-nor does any spector I've heard-sound like a J Bass with old stings on. But it could be any bass in the world.... It gets the same treatment. The spirit of my post is that everyone seems to be trying to sound like Jaco. Although an incredible talent, Bass didn't freeze in 1987 when he died. Innovators have taken things further. Darkglass are a new brand trying to drag our arses into the 21st century. And what happens? A plethora of bassists go for the same sound...playing the same way, and bleating at anyone who tries to break the mould. Real instrumentalists are dying out. Because innovation is dead. Where are the Entwistles? The Sheehans? And not just to copy, to innovate, To take the bass further?
@insanerotta53326 жыл бұрын
Matt Chapman well i can agree on that. To be fair even though I play a simple p-bass quite often I also run it bi-amped through an octave up pedal into a Marshall stack...

Garegh62 David ellefson from megadeth billy Sheehan rex brown from pantera frank bello all use hartke even geezer butler the legend himself used hartke for a while. I don't even like hartke amps because they are too scooped but alot of people use them
@Progbassist6 жыл бұрын
Woofy Stevenson You cant really say an amp is too scooped...there is always the mid control.
@woofystevenson29436 жыл бұрын
The mid control doesn't go high enough,
@woofystevenson29436 жыл бұрын
Progbassist the tonal characteristics of a hartke if you measure it the naturally don't have a big amount of midrange and the mids are set at around 750, I use ampeg and like between 250-500 for mids , they slice right through the kick drum
