Wanna know something funny? You can still use debug mode during in game "cutscenes" which can occasionally lead to some funny things happening. Edit: And during the end credits of Sonic 1, the item monitor with the shield that the characters break in Marble Zone changes depending on what items you have set in the sound test.

Why is Robotnik next to the blue rocket and not to the Doomsday mech in the S&K ending? The rocket broke way earlier befor Eggman himself fell with the mech

I know right? It would make sense if they were restricted to Story Mode, where you're forced to play as Sonic. But for the games themselves where you have options to play as other characters? It just doesn't work.
