Cool details I think are worth mentioning: 1. Zera the Mant is Zera's sword. 2. The Maiden seems to be based on Lilith. You can even see a female symbol in Condemned Maiden's eye-patch and in the chain in her dress. 3. While all Darklords need to fall to the graveyard to be summoned to the field, Nasten is the only Darklord that can be summoned directly from the Hand, because he plays both sides at once, as Contact and Sanctified shows. Also, it is implied Condemned Darklord summons Darklord Morningstar into heaven by Sacrificing Nasten, because in Forbidden Droplet we see various little shadows consuming Nasten as the Maiden pours the droplet onto him -- those shadows are from Tribute Burial, a card with the same effect as Condemned Darklord. The story seems to basically depict the combo of Condemned Darklord banishing Nasten from the GY to tribute summon Morningstar, thus tutoring Indulged from the deck and Caprious to the opponent, and using Uprising to fuse Condemned, Indulged and Morningstar into the First Darklord. 4. Nergal seems to be a corrupted Nasten made of Tribute Burial spirits.

I've always found this archetype interesting and find it somewhat surprising that Konami was willing to go so far into theological territory for a children's card game - even with the localization changes and censoring. I also appreciate your fairhanded and direct approach to explaining the cards and their inspiration without bashing on Christianity as most people seem to do when discussing the Darklord cards.

This deck is in desperate need of support. The lore and design alone scream for more. Give them a field spell playing into their gimmick of copying effects amd help make it easier to summon them. Give them a counter trap card that has a good effect but has a heavy cost that again plays into their gimmick. Give them a new fusion or link monster that makes the opponent take effect damage when you pay life points. Alter forbidden droplet to either Darklord droplet or give us a card with that name given that it ties to the lore. I just love this archetype and it's a crime how darklords are a forgotten archetype. Despia help them out and have good synergy but it would be nice to get new support.

I love the Darklord archetype. Probably my favorite in the entire game. The lore & inspirations are awesome and the artwork is wonderfull Its also kinda crazy that the story, so far, ends on the massive cliffhanger of Condemned being revealed to have taken over The Sanctuary In The Sky (basically Heaven) after presumably destroying Solemn's physical form Something I assume Morningstar wouldn't take lightly as he wants the Sanctuary for himself. Leading to a potential literal civil war among Fallen Angels for God's kingdom

But the Valuable Book lore doesn't agree with that interpretation. Lucifer is referred to as still intending on defeating God with intent to take over Heaven which puts him at odds with Condemned who just wants to enjoy the act of rebellion, throwing the entire set of Darklords into disarray and in-fighting and it also confirms that Witches' Strike, which shows God calm and with hands behind the back as the attack bounces off of a barrier, is not the Witch "winning" but being completely ineffective at the intended direct attack.
@libertaliagamesupply7623 ай бұрын
That’s interesting, I can’t seem to find that anywhere. It looks like you’re right about the first Darklord being at odds with Condemned but I don’t see any elaboration on the story. Would you have a link?
@Zetact_3 ай бұрын
@@libertaliagamesupply762 It's in VBEX1, the "Witch's Strike" card doesn't have any description in it but is just used as a context card. However, the card set after Witch's Strike of Condemned Darklord is given the following lore description: "By then, rebellion itself had become the ultimate pleasure for her. Such madness had taken over other Darklords, increasing her influence." which shows her at odds with Lucifer. Indulged and Capricious are noted as having been tempted with words rather than direct power. In contrast, Lucifer's text in the Darklord story is, ""Morningstar" absorbed the Darklords that had lost their power because of the "Condemned Darklord", yet this was also within her calculations. Despite being aware of this, "Morningstar" will stop at nothing in order to take down God." So we know that First Darklord takes place lore-wise after Witch's Strike, and in the text is shows that Lucifer is still fighting Heaven. So in brief the order of events of the relevant cards is Witch's Strike -> Condemned Darklord -> First Darklord. First Darklord's lore is the last confirmed piece of info we have in VBEX (VBEX is also printed a little after Forbidden Droplet's release) and confirms that God was not defeated, at the very least we can confirm this statement about Lucifer shows that Witch's Strike was not a victory.

@@libertaliagamesupply762 desire, asmodeus, superbia,arae and ukoback all came first from the manga and were all played by Midori Hibiki. You can easily find this kind of infos on wikia yugi, y checking the section "appearences" which allow to know if the card appeared in the anime/manga first. Also, in the manga Asmodus doesn't have an effect but it's attack is named "hell parade" which is very fitting for the leader of an army of demon. Lastly, ironically, the character using them was actually on the protagonist side while the antagonist she dueled(who turned out to actually be secretly someone who also wanted to take down the main villain) used a light fairy/angel deck.

I should consider that in the future though, it could save me some time lol That last part would have definitely been worth mentioning, that pretty much sums up the whole story in the cards as well. I’m thinking about doing monarchs next, do you have any interesting insight on them?
@drearydoll63053 ай бұрын
@@libertaliagamesupply762 Honestly about monarch, not so much to say. They did make appearences through animes and mangas and were always played by minor antagonists but didn't really have a lore. The only thing that stood out is that one of them used granmarg (rock), zaborg(thunder), thestalos(fire) and mobius(ice), which are reccuring elements in phantasy, as tribute to summon Demiurge Ema. Demiurge is supported by the spell card blue moon who itself can be activated thanks to the spell card shadow moon. Blue moon make spell and traps become homunculus tokens and demiurge increase its power the more token they re. You can look for the cards on wikia yugi since they re anime-only cards currently.
