Thumbs up just for showing the "You will provide the revenues owed to us by time I finish THIS cigar!". I've been looking everywhere for that scene and you showed it! But great reaction video altogether!

Raimi had wanted to make an adaptation of The Shadow, but was unable to get the movie rights. So he said fuck it and made his own character. And I'm so glad he did, because Darkman kicks ASS

yes it does!

Liam Neeson melting down at the carnival is my favorite part 🤬 His rage face is so funny! Sam injects a ton of dark humor into Darkman and it definitely shows in his later superhero movies. Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy) takes over for the sequels and they are pretty fun. I know Ted Raimi dies horribly in one of them 😉

That's such a memorable scene! Liam Neeson's performance really adds a unique touch to the film, especially with that mix of dark humor.

Almost 35 years later. Sam Raimi's first, big budget feature and having it made with Universal was no brainer. Because the story of the film is by Raimi himself and he co-wrote the screenplay to pay homage to Universal Monsters' golden era (1930s). I did see Neeson in Next of Kin (1989) with my dad like on video or cable or something right before Darkman. This was intriguing to check out and see because it had a comic-book esque feel to it and the trailer really floored me. Neeson in his first lead role and as Westlake in the aftermath of his accident was scary and creepy, yet brilliant. Losing his temper messed with me a little bit but showing of his power and limits was amazing. Being just about anyone at anytime and even looking like The Shadow with his coat and hat was cool. Cast, direction, camerawork, Danny Elfman's score are all great. Made 3 times it's budget, not bad for Mr. Raimi The video game was on home systems by Ocean for the NES, Game Boy and PC. Marvel Comics did 9 issues with issue #1 adapting the movie and issue #2 thru #8 of his exploits afterwards. 4 novels from Jove publishing came out in 1994. There was action figures of the movie from Sota toys. RIP to the castmembers involved in the film and they were all villains: Larry Drake as Durant, Nicolas Worth as Pauley, Dan Hicks as Skip and Jessie Lawrence Ferguson as Eddie Black. 2 sequels were straight to video: Part 2:The Return of Durant (1995) and Part 3:Die Darkman Die (1996). Part 2 was ok and I never saw Part 3. Darkman was almost an television series and the pilot episode is somewhere on KZbin.

"I was a carny once. Worst job in my life!". (pink elephant scene) You think you had it bad?! LOL! Seriously, though, if you rewatch that part, his foot does actually go forward, so he probably did step over the line. Poor carny dude!

A childhood favorite! 😂 We immediately put it on the rotation list when Liam Neeson snapped at the carnival "TAKE THE F'N ELEPHANT!" LOL! This was also my first Liam Neeson movie. Good times 😊

The Quick and The Dead, The Gift and A Simple Plan are all lesser discussed Raimi gems worth watching. 1 is a star packed western with actors that'd dominate next decade, 2 an Eve's Bayou style southern supernatural thriller, 3 a masterfully directed character drama thriller with very deep characters in tense well written situations.

This was good campy fun. Remember seeing it in the theater. The sequels were pretty bad but still entertaining. Arnold Vooslo replaced Liam Neeson in the sequels
