Made me cry. We have a Hindi Professor in our college who is blind but teaches us with the same compassion and dedication like any other Professor would. This short film made me help gain some insight into his struggles as an educator.

Such a warm story. It reminds me of my teacher who is also visually impaired(blind) who taught me when I was in middle school. She is one of the best teachers in my school life. And I still feel honoured that I was her student. I used to hold her hand to accompany her while we go to classroom from teachers room and vice versa. She was our English language teacher. My English pronunciation got better because of her.

I'm not visually impaired myself. Just that I was a college teacher a few years back, and left the job for a petty reason over a year ago. Not very happy but didn't really dwell much on it. Now that I've watched this, I feel embarrassed. Why? Because one shouldn't be a teacher without a solid dedication. Was I really willing to be this much giving without an expectation in return? Was I honestly this dedicated to my job and my students? Did I even care about their ups and downs, their struggles, their problems? Sure they were not a bunch of kids in the elementary. But did I do it right? Everyday, I just went to the department, sat at my desk, drank coffee, finished whatever was on the desk, went to class and talked about whatever topic I had in the schedule, without even looking at their faces, came back, had lunch, went back to more classes, and then went home. Whatever they were facing or feeling wasn't my problem. They were adults for heaven's sake. Right? At least that's what I thought was the way to do it. Now I'm not so sure. And I'm not also sure anymore about going back into the classroom. This short film gave me a lot to think.

My Grandpa was a music teacher, he was also called for different govt and community cultural programs. There was a time, when people wouldn't hold his hand, but he had a friend who would hold his hand and tell those people, that the same people will have to request him to come and perform for his talent some day and that did happen, as the same set of people used to call him every year for community events. I was unfortunate, he died when I was just 7 yrs old. He performed in All India Radio which was a big thing in those days in India since TV was not really a thing. He didn't earn lot of money, but he earned lot of respect of so many people. We had visitors coming in months after his death to pay respects. I miss him already!

IN ASIAN CULTURE, TEACHERS ARE HIGHLY REGARDED RESPECTED BY SOCIETY AND STUDENTS M❤❤❤
@nelliethursday18122 жыл бұрын
Here in America there is very little respect for teachers (for the most part) also the parents would rather blame the teacher if students are failing (And it is more than obvious that it is indeed the students fault). Here you can say very bad words to the teacher and nothing happens to the student. Many female students here worry more about their rights on being allowed to wear mid drift spaghetti strap shirts than learning.

This is one of the few negatives in the USA. 1. Wooden houses 2. Enormously high medical expenses 3. Bad schools (but world class colleges)

I heard some singaporeans go to America and study. My tuition teacher child who went there got top in class very easily because the students don’t even care about their studies 😞 and she even got many As. So many people don’t care about their studies and I think it’s common in America. I think they need to change the rules in their education system
