Anyone else feel like final Xemnas is perfection in terms of boss battles? It's just you and Riku, the environment is closed off and cold feeling. Xemnas' quotes during the battle along with the music are surreal. It makes for one hell of a memorable finale to a game.

@@skullplasma0221 Sometimes the thorns don't show up next to you, so you'll end up taking damage. My advice? Reflect when there aren't any around you, then when they show up, hit 🔺️. Should save you a bit of trouble next time.

This is probably one of the best " final boss" songs I ever heard. It's not over the top,no fancy flutes, electric guitar or ecstatic drums showing how “badass” the villain is. Nope. None of that. Here, this song is soothing, flowing, but also very saddening, like you are trapped with no way out, like Xemnas here must feel. He knows he’s going to lose one way or another and is fighting with all he has. This is his end. His demise, and I can feel that in this song. Gods damned that is depressing at best...

Only a 3-note sequence of Terra’s theme can be heard. The rest is in the same key and has the same rhythm and solo violin instrumentation, but all of the notes-the musical ideas-are different: the two themes sound similar on the outside, but looking in, they’re completely different. Just like Xemnas is Terra’s body on the outside, but the mind inside is completely different.

Xemnas kept that info to himself so that he can use the other Original Organization 13 members to do his bidding and use the fake kingdom hearts to implant pieces of his heart into him to form the 13 darknesses. Xemnas is what Terra would look like grown up (with the exception of the darker complexion). After seeing and playing later games, Terra's heart is not in Xemnas as it was cast into darkness a long time ago, probably when Xehanort removed his heart when he Ansem the Wise's apprentice. A piece of Xehanort's heart is in control. In KH3 in the final battle, the Dark Guardian of Terra-Xehanort helped Sora subdue Terra-Xehanort and Terra's heart was returned back into his body. This could suggest that Terra's heart was being controlled by darkness and became the Dark Guardian for Ansem (Xehanort's Heartless). However, this would suggest that in the current timeline, Terra never returned. The Terra we see at the end of KH3 is the one that was from the past, during the end events of KH: Birth by Sleep, that travelled within the heart of Xehanort.

I love how every other battle with him up until this one is over the top, with incredible set pieces and large areas. This? It's a last stand. There's no blaring crescendos with a whole orchestra anymore, it's just somber and struggling to not die out. It's very fitting of a last stand. Which makes it all the more satisfying considering what fought through to end it here.

I feel like Kingdom Hearts could have done a loooot better with the idea of making Xemnas struggle with the contradiction of his existence. They should have made this battle feel a lot more desperate and sad, like his convictions and the convictions of the ones before him are all laid at his feet, dead and buried. And yet despite it all, his nature compels him to press on and continue, even though he's either condemning himself to death or to a non-existent hive mind. I feel like this is where that struggle should have reached its peak, and then when he comes back in DDD is when that should have been reconciled

Y'know, I played KH2 on the Original and International version, and I gotta say - Sora's diss on Xemnas being eternal in Japanese was crazy, way stronger than his English. **Japanese translated (Original)** Xemnas: Wielders of the Light realm... There isn't really an aura of sadness rather that there is really a sense of clarity with Final Xemnas DotE. The drums and the organ have faded away. The song has slowed down. Upon your eyes, you see Xemnas, challenging you with his ideal that Anger and Hate are supreme, and that these emotions perpetuate the nothingness that he says is eternal. All you have now is your Keyblade and your ally, a friend you've come to know for years. The three now standing on a battlefield as far as the eye can see. There is no sorrow. There is no joy. There is no hope. There is no despair. There is no Light. There is no Darkness. There is only the final battle.
