"DARKNESS ON UMBARA" - The Clone Wars [For 200 Subs]

So, here it finally is, my 200 subscriber special that was originally meant to be a late 100 subs special. It's crazy how much you've been supporting me lately, in the last 10 days more than 80 people subscribed to this channel. It's like, I looked at my channel at 100 subscribers, then blinked, and out of nowhere it became 200. I want to thank you all for that, and I'm looking forward to make more tributes and edits for you guys. I hope this video is good enough for a subscriber special, as a "summary" for one of my favourite story arcs in the series. This also turned out longer than I expected, but I hope it's not all too streched out for you guys and that It's still enjoyable to watch. And yes, I know I already used the first song for the Fives tribute, but I started working on this months ago before I made the Fives one, because you know, motivation comes and goes. Enjoy! The Umbara arc is without a doubt my favorite arc in The Clone Wars. It's one of the major things that taught me the concept of individuality. Seeing this entire arc perfectly summarized in such dynamic ways really put a smile on my face.

The thing I love about the landing scene in the first episode of this arc is that there is absolutely no music. It's just the sounds of battle. The explosions, the blaster fire, the screams of dying men.

I know now because of the umbara arc why the 501st was so quick to act on Order 66, The 501st was betrayed once before and was not going to let the Jedi play them yet again. So rather than let the jedi slaughter more of their brothers they took them out at the source marching on the temple, and ending the threat to their brothers without question. Later on regretting what they did..... because they were now under the evil more greater than Krell.

I cannot express how beautifully the entire arc was summed up in just 13 min, with no exposition and fitting music. This is the best edit of one of the best arcs of TCW, and i am sure it will just keep getting better from here. Continue satisfying the star wars fanbase with such phenomenal artwork! Also, could we possibly see an edit of the mandalorian any time soon? Maybe as a 500 subscriber special?

Not sure if I can tell you where I get the footage from though, I download them as .mkv files (because they have 6 channel audio, so I can use the channel without the background music) and use a program called “HandBrake” to convert them into mp4, because most editing softwares don’t support mkv files. The battle of Umbara shows really how much the clones could take, and beyond that. They were treated not like beings, but like things. That's the sad part too. Digging deeper into it, Pong Krell knew that the Republic was gonna fail sooner or later. He also treated the clones like the kaminoans (sorry if I'm spelling that wrong) did. They treated the clones like property, and not like people.

How do you remove the music from scenes, like the one with Krell talking about executing Fives and Jesse? That was done so well I would love to know how to do it.

I use torrent to download the show from sites like 1337x, and the footage usually comes in .mkv format which has 5.1 audio. With this there are multiple audio channels and that way you can just mute the channels with the background music in them in your editing software and leave the one with dialogue. Sounds complicated but really isn’t, you can search up “How to remove background music from shows” or “6 channel audio tutorial” and I’m pretty sure you’ll find something. Hope I could be a help, good luck man :)
