All water should be filtered and boiled before consumption no matter where it comes from during power outages.

Humans lived without electricity for over 60,000 years.....I think we are gonna be alright 😊

Agree, but we did not have all the contamination we have nowadays. Water and knowledge are the main concerns. Most people do not know how to survive 3 hours without tiktok

Those of us who have experience with it. The rest are going to panic. It is a whole different world when you do not have electricity.

If you live in the United States or really anywhere, you better have an emergency radio. I bought one from Walmart for under 20$ and it has 3 ways to power it, and it has a flashlight on it too. Everyone should have one of these.
@marytica1237 күн бұрын
We do too - but keep in mind, once the radio stations run out of fuel for their emergency generators, they too will be "off the air" ! You really need an emergency radio which also has "short wave" an "international" capability.

Don't think such things can happen, just look at The Texas Blackout February 14-20, 2021 and what has happen because of Hurricane Helene.

You would need a industrial generator,

@tommysimmons5266 I'm sure the gas station can get a good generator.my friends Dad made a huge one.
@outbackeddie8 күн бұрын
@@tommysimmons5266 All you need is the correct voltage and adequate watts to run the pump. I'm guessing 120-volts and 1,200-watts would be enough to run most pumps. Even a small 2KW Honda generator can handle that.

Why do you all think that any of that crap you all mentioned will even matter after shtf. Anything you power., including vehicles won't work or be needed. Stop trying to make the world after shtf, like the world before. It's pointless
@Michaelfatman-xo7gv6 күн бұрын
Most gas stations have done the numbers and they lack a backup generator.

Unless it's winter, i enjoy when the power goes out. There is a peaceful calm. Except for milking cows, i can live without electricity just fine. I do have a portable milking unit i could run off a gas generator.

Also, PRACTISE for power outages. We can talk theory all we want, but, we need to have actual EXPERIENCE doing it. For example, if the power is out for a long time, it is going to become necessary to grow your own food and have endurance to walk long distances. Both of these need to be practiced LONG before the lights go out. Depending on where you live, storing water may, or may not be a viable option. A 55 gallon tank only goes so far.

I might miss a few things for a little while but then you just pick yourself up and keep going but I'm also older.. I have been without utilities more than I can count I have been homeless.. so if you can be homeless you can live without the utilities.. the only thing I'm worried about is the modern kids of today that are glued to their smart devices.. that is going to be concerning.. you name the crime it's going to be committed.. and I think the kids modern society kids are going to be doing all the crimes.. but I can guarantee adults are going to be at each other's throats as well.. it will be a free-for-all it will be every man for themselves literally.. we know what's going to happen we just don't know where to in my direction they have been playing with the electric they've been shutting it on and off.. just to see what people are going to do.. just be ready for anything and everything

@marytica123 he covered some great topics except for septic systems.. that a lot of people have electric pumps.. what it goes out guess what you don't have anymore.. a toilet you're going to be doing your business in a bucket.. he also needs to cover the topic of being prepared for a handicap family members and elderly family members.. what are you going to do for them.. unfortunately I see a lot of people dead no question on it.. handicapped people elderly people are going to be the first people on that list.. sad unfortunately it's the truth

@spellerlittlewing definitely an outhouse.. we went camping and we had to use an outhouse we thought it was funny.. but I have been without utilities more times than I can count.. because I have been homeless more times than I can count.. my bathroom was a great outdoors.. LOL I might miss a few things yes no question on it.. but since I am older just pick yourself up and just keep going.. I would be worried about people going around and committing crimes.. because you know that's exactly what's going to happen when all hell breaks loose that's when the snakes and the Rats come out to Prey Upon the weak people
