The mystery packages happened to my aunt. She'd randomly receive packages through Amazon often times of things she would previously mention to her husband that she needed or wanted or that he would mention to her they needed. We know she wasn't being hacked because he was a computer code hobbiest who used to work in IT and never found any maleware.

The story about the “hiker” intrigues me. Makes me think of a shaman or Druid or other such type of “land wizard” who’s “pet” just happened to slip through a rift in space time, causing an environmental shift in the local temporal reality, causing a limited “bubble” of weird for the time he was searching for his “animal.” The tattoos could have religious, spiritual, or tribal significance; perhaps he was an ancestor of an ancient people that knew how to do such things, like interdimensional travel. “Dreamwalking” also comes to mind, which is said to enable someone so skilled to walk between realities.

Story 5: Excellent writing skills; I hope this person pursues a career in this direction. However I'm really very glad they are no longer a ranger; they spook too easily. I swear I met a Canadian named "Adam" (edit: of the same description) back in 1996 in Key West, Florida. He let me borrow his buckskin coat on an unusually cold night and was quite the poet. Sounded pretty normal to a weirdo like me.😉

How would an animal "pass" coffee beans??
@pandafu92
@pandafu92 Жыл бұрын
Jacu bird has ingested the cherry, it goes through its digestive system and the local villagers collect the odourless droppings, composed of the extremely rare coffee beans, and transport them to the drying areas where they are dried, cleaned and stored in their parchment for up to three months and the Kopi luwak is made from coffee beans plucked from civets' feces. This is bad news for civets. It's the world's most expensive coffee, and it's made from poop. Or rather, it's made from coffee beans that are partially digested and then pooped out by the civet, a catlike creature.

@jayl5032
@jayl5032 Жыл бұрын
@@jessicadanna5206 Some depictions of Fenrir are black. Like I said though, the author just took story beats and lifted certain elements to make a new story. The parallels between the original and this author's story are too great to ignore. As for the Hel thing, no, they had no chance to interact. Fenrir was bound by Gleipner until Ragnarok, so they had no chance to really have any interactions.

For story 5 I've already commented on some threads here but for anyone wanting an answer here's the run down. I'll just copy my first comment to explain some of the things and clear the air. Sorry to say but its obviously fiction, if you know the source material that the author drew from. He tried a little too hard and made it a bit too obvious in my opinion. The characters were Loki and Fenrir, from Norse mythology. The tatoos on "Adam," the strange "old" speech, the wolf transforming from adult to cub, "Adam" stating he was running out of time, the storm when the rangers approach at the end. All these things were directly picked from the mythos. I'm surprised he didn't include a scene where the wolf just bites the hand off of someone(Tyr), or another strange man tying up the creature. (Odin) Another thing to add, Loki convinced the other gods not to kill Fenrir while he was a cub (Odin knew the wolf was fated for evil, so he bound him instead) but Fenrir grew too big to contain, and would later aid the trickster god in Rangnorak.
@jessicadanna5206
@jessicadanna5206 Жыл бұрын
I’m just wondering what if the cub or smaller one was the pup from the bigger one? It does sound a lot like fenrir and Loki especially since the wildlife and pets were gone and the tattoos and old speech and clothes. Could the author have been trying to make it seem like maybe they were from another dimension or something?
