ladama its more in their demeanor and how they use body language. The way they fluff or smooth their feathers and crests and if they flash their eyes tells the deal with them. They can't smile cos they don't have lips, but you always know how they feel. Parrots are not shy and will put humans etc in their place.

We have 3. None of them go after our birds. One is an avid bird hunter outside. Our orange cat ran outside and caught a parakeet that flew out the door but didn't leave a scratch on him. Let him go when I reached down to get the bird :) cats are smart.

Henry (cat) gets along with everyone. They do get along. Years ago a parakeet flew out the door. Milo (another cat we have) ran down the stairs and caught the bird in a bush and held it until I got to them. I thought he for sure killed it! That's their instinct, to attack what moves. But no. He released it when I grabbed it and the bird was totally fine.

This made me both happy & sad all at the same time! I just lost mine ( grey lil cockatiel just like this one) 2 days ago of 18 years with me & was likely 19 or 20 in age!
