Not only is this the Emcee I want to see, this is the Emcee I want to BE. Mason Alexander Park is the reason I believe I could play the Emcee one day even though I'm not a man. Thank you, Mx. Park, for shining such a bright light on the world of theater.

It’s like having a dreaded conversation at four in the morning, coming down after too many drinks. Like you can feel the dense pit of truth in your stomach of how many times you’ve been hurt, and how hardened that pit is. How it starts as a whisper and then grows and bursts out of you and you must wrangle it so you can still speak it well enough to hear. How many of us had this talk of not being able to afford to care any longer? You make art, Mason. Beautiful art.

Okay we need a new cabaret movie and Mason has to be the Emcee. They almost brought me to tears and I'm just watching it on video! If I was there I would have ruined my mascara!❤

This point is the reason I’m watching this video. I saw Mason as Emcee in London a year ago and I can’t get over their performance. It was unbelievable. I wish I could have gone back but I saw them in their final week. I would love them to play on Broadway and then make a movie. Mason was just sublimely born for this role. I will never stop thinking about this mesmerising performance ❤

The themes of Cabaret sadly seem just as relevant today as they did when it originally premiered. I would love a new film adaptation with Mason as the MC. Or even a new pro-shot on stage.

Mason's interpretation of this song is hauntingly beautiful. They surpass all other versions of the song. You can feel the raw emotions. I watch this video at least once a day. Mason is THE Emcee of all Emcees.

Obsessed with Mason Alexander Park’s Emcee. The Emcee has always been my favorite, I cannot keep the goofy grin off my face anytime I hear any version of the Emcee. Until now. Don’t get me wrong, I would grin if I could pick my jaw up off the floor. After seeing Mason bring such emotion, power and range to this character, well it would be hard to accept anything less now. I have been watching this video on a loop for months and I tear up every single time. I lost my little mind when I was lucky enough to hear Mason Alexander Park sing this accompanied by piano legend Mike Garson in a tiny piano bar in Hollywood this October and I was on such a cloud that I forgot other people could see me and ugly cried right down in front.

This version is so raw and so heartbreaking. I'd love to hear your thought-process developing and performing this number- because your delivery is so much more vulnerable and haunting than any of the other ones i've seen.

Saw their Emcee last week. The voice, the beauty and the mischievous character with some moments of silence were stunning. Also their sprit has apparently connected with the history of BW cabaret, which i could feel different horizon from one of previous London Emcees I could watch once. (Both were great though) Definitely recommend to see them if you can!

I love everything about this!! I'm one of those who just recently fell into the rabbit hole that is Cabaret. I watched the 1993 recording with Alan Cumming, and of course he is phenomenal and iconic and I absolutely love it, but this video makes me want to see the whole version with Mason so badly. I Don't Care Much is one of my favorite songs at the moment, and I think this is my favorite version. Not just because of the beautiful vocals, but everything else too. The costuming, lighting, blocking, little details, makeup, and the facials oh my gosh!! It's so full of emotion and feeling. It's so moving and just amazing!!!

Lyrics- (since the accent can be hard to understand) I don't care much Go or stay I don't care very much Either way Hearts grow hard On a windy street Lips grow cold With the rent to meet So if you kiss me If we touch Warning's fair I don't care very much I don't care much Go or stay I don't care very much Either way Words sound false When your coat's too thin Feet don't waltz When the roof caves in So if you kiss me If we touch Warning's fair I don't care very much Mason is simply incredible. I always wonder what the real exact take of this song is supposed to be on. Is it that there’s nothing you can do to stop the impending doom except possibly numb yourself (like with sex, drugs, drinking)? Or is it simply that as of this point The Emcee knows it’s all going to burn down and take him with it, so why should he care. Instead of running for the hills & praying to your God, he’d rather burn in Berlin.
