There's a whole thing with Yujiro, later, where walking forward normally like that is actually the perfect opening move to attack your opponent, and Baki jumps back from it like he's unsure if it's a land mine, lol

Fun Fact: We human do actually have a nerve on our necks that inervates our eyes, but it's not the optic nerve, instead, is a nerve fom the sympathetic autonomous nervous system in charge of pupil dilation. The wrestler at the hands of Kosho Shinogi did lose one of his optical functions, the one that allow us to see in the dark when we are in danger, but he didn't lose his eyesight by any means, or at least not completely.
