Marge singing to homer hit me like a truck - This vid innocuously shows just how sweet, wholesome and deeply emotional old Simpsons was. Before 'jerkass Homer's shouted, cried and wailed with no meaning behind it, Marge showed the man he loved that she supported him. Not by spending money or them jetting off to a far-away land for an adventure, but pulling him close and tenderly sang 'you are so beautiful to me'. 😢 That's so beautiful!

Super Eyepatch Wolf put it best in his amazing breakdown of the series. The show simply aged out. It was a product of the 90s and that decades rebellion against the stagnation of the Television sitcom Once the new millennium hit the show went from being a satire of pop culture to becoming pop culture, which is where the jerkass Homer and zombie Simpson era started. Basically "they lived long enough to become the villains"

Honestly, I think the cleverest thing about this video is that 'Under the Sea' bit; Including the line from Homer and the reaction from Marge to show the embarrassment from the media is clever. But then including the actual imagination sequence and contrasting that with him drowned in the water is comedic genius and clever re-incorporation. Though that might be all un-intentional, it still shows how much of a good channel this is. Seems the break really did help you as this felt the most like an episode from the show. - Some guy reading too hard into this channel.

Similar joke has been done few times in Simpsons. Although, there's usually one of the side characters stating how it's not real; Homer (upon discovering underwater city): Wait a minute, How am I breathing? Mermaid: You're not. (cuts to drowning homer) Chalmers (sledding with Skinner through Mormon Church, gaining multiple wives to ride along): This can't be real. Mormon wife: It isn't. Really awesome to have you back, DS! These videos are my whole reason for getting up in the morning. The writing takes the best of both retro and modern (the few GOOD things about it anyway) and adds a mix of dark chocolate darkness. I have an idea for a video based on the Disney+ ad where Bart's dressed as Mickey. You could make an episode about Bart working for Disney and how it mentally takes a toll on him, or the exact opposite where he develops an ego to the point that he commits murder or some other dark deeds, unless you want to do so for Homer instead. You could use footage from S05E12 "Bart Gets Famous" and S11E22 "Behind the Laughter" to name a few sources.

@@DarkSimpsons Also, you could definitely add the joke from The Simpsons Movie where Bart puts a black bra on his head and says, "I'm the mascot of an evil corporation!". Maybe place it in a way so that it looks like he's venting in spite of his stress working there, and the fact that it's on a train could make it look as if it's on Disney's monorail in Orlando. Just a suggestion, but you can use it however you'd like. Your structuring of every video is insanely brilliant, so I'm leaving that to you.

Honestly, I thought that's where this was going. I thought it would cut to him at the nuclear power plant or something.

Let me guess: the sound where Homer died from drowning came from the scene where he drank horse tranquilizer, right?

Lol, no, minisodes by my definition is 5 minutes, the videos are just organically getting longer

Next time on dark Simpsons: Butterfinger: Bart and Homer are constantly competing with each other over a Butterfinger candy bar, but Bart outsmarts him at every turn, so Homer does something drastic. (I think you can make a goo video revolving around those old Simpsons Butterfinger commercials)

Got to admit that after being rejected recently by a girl I really liked, I sympathise deeply with Homer's position here. Though I think she mainly rejected me because of my timidity. Also 0:59 was a genuinely wholesome moment.

YES, I was hoping you'd do an "under the sea" payoff like that! I guess the family is lucky that Homer didn't make them all "pack their bags and start a new life" along with him. We know he's capable of such things!
