Darkstalkers 3 [PS1] - play as Shadow

One of the scariest things about him is that he’s the only Darkstalker to be absolutely pure evil; pretty much like very other villain has some redeeming traits to them. B.B. Hood is perfectly nice to non-monsters such as the animals following her, and does care for her family, it seems. Demitri has a sense of honor and doesn’t want to see Morrigan outright DEAD. Bishamon kills because the armor forces him to. Not sure about if the armor alone has redeeming qualities, but Hannya and Kien do seem to be genuine friends. Lord Raptor genuinely likes Le Malta, and also seems to have some respect for women in the Night Warriors OVA. Jedah genuinely means the best for his world. Pyron… well his ending after NW shows him more curious about earth than anything else. Shadow, on the other hand? Turns a woman into his marionette slave and slowly sucks her life away, then possesses his defeated victims, turning those he wins using to stone and leaving them behind like trash.

Thinking about it, Shadow may be the most pure evil character in the entire series. Everyone else has some manner of redeeming quality. Shadow? There’s nothing admirable, sympathetic, or even comical about him.

Hmm it's interesting to see how that character works out. He's a creepy n giant shadow that always had a body fetish during all his lonely life. He takes shape by possessing bodies of whoeva he wants n then he starts forcing them to fight his opponents, treating them like slaves. When he manages to find another body which he thinks that looks better to move on he suddenly captures it while the old one turns into a rock statue before finishing its victory pose. Yeah, gotta say they did pretty well.

@@SuperMiIk Its just an exaggerated version of saying "an extreme liking to something". Which to be honest isn't too off the boat as a guess, considering the darker tones Darkstalkers has (when you look at the backgrounds or certain details).

A lot of Darkstalkers is more of a visual comedy than actual horror, but something about the sound design, concept, and secrecy of this character really disturbs me. Same with Marionette. It's almost like something out of a bad creepypasta, but it's real.

This till this day STILL creeps me out, I had to look online on how to become this player & it's some crazy hidden elite secret shit that most gamers at that time didn't know could happen as an option. On another note when you see how a lot of satanic ridden images & symbols are used in games including this on especially the all seeing eye at the top of a pyramid in the game's intro says more than enough with this creepy secret play mode.

Feels like the creepiest aspect of the entire game, even more then Jedah's plan or bishamon and what he does. A mysterious entity stealing away all the characters souls after done possessing them, leaving their dead bodies as stone there after. He also created Marionette to extend his power over others.

This guy is underrated AF. his design is simple, yet rly disturbing. and his victory animation makes him even worse... dude should have more lore behind him tbh, and he should also be a standalone character, although idk how they would pull it off, since hes so damn HUUUUUGEEE! revive this series alr Capcom, cmooon!!!

I remember if you set the game to shortcut to bypass the regular character select screen you get a list. Pressing start on the names changes the colour of the text so you can tell what version of the character you are. An alternative and easier method of selecting special characters or at least confirming them.

idk why, but for some reason, i have the feeling this game would be very awesome as a remaster and as a Switch Exclusive. not sure, but for some reason, i feel this game would fit better in a Nintendo Console.
