I swear, this is one of the best mixes i've ever heard in my entire life. Yes it's very low quality, but the guitars and the bass can be heard at a VERY EQUAL level without the one being too loud from the other and even though the drums can't be heard that much, their percussional fundamentals are still audible which is just fine and the vocals are also fine. Hands down, one of the best black metal mixes ever, it's definitely up there with Burzum's Filosofem

While Punk Rock was a rebellion against society through music, Black Metal is a rebellion against the musical norms themselves. Clean sung vocals, crisp studio quality sounds, and the same tired old lyrics about love found/lost were all things that Black Metal was rebelling against. To many music lovers (myself included) this was a breath of fresh air for the music industry, even if it's underground. If you can't appreciate this style of music, that's fine. everlasting riffs, unforgetable, nystical. I'm listening BM since 2002 and I still this music makes my flesh creep. Pure sonic extasy.

This song is perfect in every form. It creates, in my thought, the almost epitome of black metal's musical defenition. Yeah, black metal is an actually quite versatile genre, but every time the term "black metal" comes to mind...this is the first song to come to mind along with it. Amazing stuff. Hail Darkthrone. Hail black metal.
