Warhammer 40k story time: There was once a large group of orks traveling through space using their junky space ships, and as one ship approached the other, the orks inside exited with "space suits" and found the orks of the other space ship making quick repairs. But the problem was that the ones repairing the ship had absolutely no space protection on. The suited ones proceeded to remind them how the vacuum of space worked, and that they weren't wearing suites. The other group of orcs then instantly died upon realizing this.

Also a great ork story: An Inquisitor aware of the Orkoid belief power, wanted to experiment and see how strong it really was. After much struggle, he managed to capture an Ork to interrogate and find out more. The Inquisitor came in and gave the ork a pipe...just a regular normal steel pipe. He told the ork it was a gun. So the ork aimed the pipe at the Inquisitor _and somehow made it fire, killing him on the spot._

15:44 There isn't anything in the canon sources that states that its true, only an in-universe theory from an adeptus mechanicus (who are people who use 10,000 year old technology, have no idea how it works, and pray to a mechanical god in the hopes that it works) or an inquisitor I don't remember off of the top of my head. All of the stories that people talk about orks manifesting reality are from people's individual games, not an actual codex; GW are fine with bending lore/mechanics for fun but that doesn't mean that it's standard across the setting. Orks are actually a corrupted race of super-intelligent and strong beings that were able to create very technologically advanced machinery on their own. So the probable in-universe reason as to why orks can build stuff out of scrap is because they have an unconscious ability to know how to, not because they believe they can. They don't believe that red ones go faster, they know that red ones go faster. They don't believe they can travel the warp in a giant tin can, they know they can. The actual reason as to why orks can make the crap they use work is because it looks cool and that's all that matters in WH40k.

Best part of that ork story, the guardsmen are yelling "bang bang bang" and the orks are dying until one group of orks are all marching in a group on each others shoulders and the guardsmen yell at them and they go "ka-ping, t-wang, tk-ong" and its not working anymore. And just when they get right on top of them they hear the orks all chanting quietly together "I'm a tank I'm a tank I'm a tank I'm a tank."
