Idk infernus works in mission better because youre having to move disengage and there are times where i spray a pack of gunners have to dodge bc a mutant is about to grab me and the pack of gunners had burned out by the time i got back to them

I've been playing this game on and off for about 6 months. But I felt like no matter what I do I am bad at the game. This tutorial allowed me to actually complete a heresy level for the first time. I am using the same weapons, they aren't as nicely spected as yours since I had to buy them in store but I added the same perks. I still can't beat a malice level though. I'm amazed at how little i've learned from just playing the game. I feel like playing veteran was probably not the best choice of a beginner character and I also feel so under powered whenever I see other classes at play. I need to start focusing on being better at melee, dodging and blocking. I never block and barely dodge. It's hard for me to focus on my stamina and other stats when i'm surrounded by a mob of enemies cause I feel like my guy is made of glass and get's one shot to death before I can run away or react. I'm not going to give up though. This video really did help me play better. When you recommend putting stamina in your curios, are you talking about stamina regeneration or the +2 stamina buff? I'm currently using 15 plus toughness instead of stamina cause of how easily I can get taken out but I feel like I should figure out your strategy cause I see so many good players staying alive with just melee, blocking and running even though there's a billion enemies around them, idk how the heck you guys are so good lol.

I was the same way at first. Try a melee focused build for a while and don’t worry so much about gunning down anything but snipers, trappers, etc. Just melee everything you can and focus on your movement.

I prefer las recon over plasma vet build any day, plasma is slow and combersome + dps half of the time is quaestionable with plasma, especially when elites are buffed to hell.

Dude plasma is so peak when 10 crushers and 15 maulers try to rush you in a doorway. It feel so great to tear them to shreds with the plasma.

Almost all the time elites even on havoc are all in groups but are not all in the same place at once, in this case psyker just stuns them and zealot kills them. just speaking from experience.

I’ve been running plasma in auric maelstrom and damnation with a lot of success, but it’s biggest issue IMO is with the flak guns dug in cover. It’s pretty rough trying to hit 30 dudes in cover with a gun so slow, while also being supressed

Uses infernus with headhunter. Headhunter gives you the crit to proc infernus more.

Prefer the setup with brittleness on hit for high rate of fire vet builds. You can't always be in melee to save a teammate from a crusher overhead from behind, etc

I personally take headhunter AND Infernus, because if you´re forced to weaponswap or get staggered, you still got some shots onto a target and it can burn down. I like headging my bets and this combo is insanely good, you literally waste a slot for the 5% crit, it is majorly useless if you got headhunter, and you took an extremely useless blessing, because DumDum is only useful in a situation where you would be faster killing enemies around you by switching to melee.

I would have liked to hear your thoughts on Dum Dum, for a while in the recent patch I've been running Headhunter Infernus, and I thought it was doing me favors. But looking into it it seems like Infernus is only really helping me hose down bosses.

he brought it up pretty specifically: Infernus has the edge on bosses (especially if you can brittle them) and dumdum has the edge on everything else that he would rather recommend the gun for. So you just specialize in one or the other more.

I’ve been leveling rejects on PS5 and the amount of games where I see little to no dodge use from others is rather concerning. Its hard for me to play without demo team cuz I value the skill. I had a recon build i was running with onslaught and no keystone so I could take it but i didnt really know what melee weapon to run. I was using shovel alot just cuz I like it.

Surely with Headhunter, Veterans crit with all his other talents is so high that at best you dont get a lot of benefit from headhunter? If 1 of every 3 hits is a crit, Headhunter is only giving you something like 7.5% effective crit chance? if Infernus isnt to taste, maybe Deathspitter?

@@spizC the problem with the power sword isn't its damage, it can handily shred crushers with the 1-2 combo from the block attack all day long on Damnation. The issue is with it being pure offense with crappy block and dodge/mobility, which you crucially need doing the hardest content. I've played a zillion hours and vet is my main so i can get away with using the power sword on hardest content, but even still the bad dodge/mobility causes me problems sometimes, and block efficiency eats up a slot on my curios (I use block efficiency instead of bonus 5% toughness when I use it). Tanner is correct that you should get used to using the dueling sword and/or the knife, because you will absolutely be glad you're comfortable with them for high end play, and so will your teammates.

I've watched this video a few times, and yes I should've known the spot where you went into it but Im building my vet as I go, comming back here to see what the next step is. Im just saying you've done chapters before in more long form content and it would be cool if that was in all of it. Not all of us want to take the time or have the patience to scrub through a video we've seen before just to get to the part we need to progress our build. I think headhunter is by the numbers better. But strictly for new players infernus is better, as it’s only proc condition is hold down trigger and crit. Versus headhunter requiring a weakspot hit(s) to proc. Which people should be hitting anyway but realistically while learning the game or just getting into auric mael idk how focused they’ll be on procing it.
