Thank you for another great video. The audio delay is maddening. Thank you for your bloodhound-like pursuit in getting this problem solved. Excited to see the conclusion in part 2!

I keep sweing 1up cabs at costco. I was discussing with a coworker how I wanted a cocktail cabinet, and costco had one sitting there the next time I went. Frankly, I wont be buying one from them. I'm not hard on my gear (and my kid isnt either) so the low cost option is viable, but I don't trust 1up. I think (eventually) I'll end up DIYing something for three times the cost, but I know Id be able to addess any issues!

I bought the very first 1up Tempest (Not the deluxe edition) and it had a similar sync problem that was never was resolved by 1up. Since the cab had no external connections, there was no way to do an upgrade\fix without replacing the entire PCB. The audio sync is annoying, but the games are still playable. Ultimately, I plan to replace the game board with a raspberry Pi or some other game hardware. Because of the downturn in 1up as a company, I am unlikely to buying any new cabs from them until game collectors have tested them for problems.

When they originally announced this, they were going to make you have to have a phone stuck in the display area for the score - that killed any changes of me wanting it. Then they seemed to do THE RIGHT THING(tm) and create a standalone backglass display - and I kinda wanted to reward them for DOING THE RIGHT THING ... but then look what happened? $40 isn't a big deal financially (after all, if you can afford a $600 cabinet, you should be able to eek out $40 at some point) but the point that they told everyone they weren't going to fix it - now they are fixing it (but at a cost - EVERYONE is out of warranty)? That kinda pisses me off. But, I want my cab fixed, so ... there you go.
