Just a tip for you! Alpacas breed only once a year. They dont have heat cycles like most animals do so you will have to wait a year before Tiana will be able to be bred again. If she isnt bred then that means she’s mostly likely infertile or has gone infertile. I’ve had a few alpacas before and worked with them. :)

I'm happy that atleast one is pregnant. Did you find out how old they need to be for breeding? Did you find out how old the three adults are? They sure do look so healthy now. I've been waiting for this video and seen it posted and started screaming. My kids came running because they thought something happened. I told them we get to find out if they're going to have donkey poodle babies lol. I so can't wait for Tina to have her baby. Love your videos and your beautiful family! What abt painting your females backside to see if it gets smeared by Rufus, kinda a reverse harness idea. Also, we have 4 pups, 2 of whom are 10 and over and have serious joint & hip problems. Our vet told us to give them Aleve or the generic is fine 2x a day. We give 1 Aleve in the am and 1 at bedtime with the assistance of a pill pocket and they act like new pups! Might wanna give it a try.

Lavender baby shampoo helps with fleas. It is also gentle enough to use twice weekly. My dog has a flea allergy and sensitive skin. She gets a bath every 3 to 4 days as needed. Lavender repels fleas. You can also mix the lavender baby shampoo with water in a spray bottle and give daily uses. In a 24 oz bottle of water I mix about 1-2 tbsp of the shampoo. You want to small the lavender but it should not feel soapy if sprayed on your hand

Try Extend for Cali. Our 10 year old Bernese Mountain Dog was not playing much and having a difficult time getting up on the bed. Extend is a hip and joint supplement that you put in their food once a day. It is beef flavored (and even smells like beef bouillon) and she loves it. Within a week she was amazingly acting like a puppy. Had tried other supps with no difference. This stuff is GREAT!

There are mini cows of many breeds. Mini Hereford, mini Angus or Lowline Angus, mini Texas longhorn, zebu, mini jersey, mini belted Galloway, Dexter, etc. I have a mini Hereford bull in with my mini jersey heifers and my Lowline Angus/classic Hereford crosses. Used to have a nice Lowline Angus bull. Lowline Angus are a little bigger than the mini Hereford. My classic Herefords are close to the Lowline Angus size of about 700-800 pound cows and up to 1100 pound bulls. I just had a bull processed out that I didn't need anymore. He was by my Lowline Angus bull and out of my last classic Hereford cow from my original group. He had a hanging weight of over 900 pounds. A mini Hereford will have a hanging weight of 400-500 pounds for a larger one. It all depends on how big you want them. The mini Hereford and Lowline Angus are very quiet and docile. My vet loved my old Lowline bull as he was so easy to work with. Kept him until he died when he was almost 16. Never a mean bone in his body. My mini Hereford bulls are the same. Mini jersey was a typical jersey bull and not safe to be around as he got older. Sold him as didn't trust him at all. Highly recommend them and they work great with goats as they don't share the same parasites and thus keeps the parasite load down

Suggestion in regards to your dogs flea's I have had mixed results with flea collars. You would probably do better, be more effective with a spot on flea product like Frontline or some other spot on product that you apply up between the dogs shoulders on the skin. You need to do it same week every month and they seem to be more effective, dose you monthly heartworm meds at the same time. Do both "ALL" year long for best results. My background: 16 GSD's, plus 3 other breeds. 32 GSD fosters in my home, Pulled 152 GSD's the day they were to be put down. Ex-trainer, Ex-Vet Tech at two different clinics. So not a beginner. Best of luck! Oohraah from the West Coast!!!!

I used to give my cats and dogs berwer's yeast mixed with a little water into a paste on a regulat basis to prevent flees. They loved it. I also added pumpkin seeds to prevent worms. The vitamin B in the brewer's yeast really helps and it's natural.

Our family friends have an alpaca farm on Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada. They're lucky because they have 35+ alpacas so the vet comes to them, lol. It would be a week-long endeavour to take a few at a time and being that they are in their late 60's and early 70's, it's just safer for them. Having said this, their 'babies" are very friendly with them and LOVE to have human interaction with them. Tina and Dolly, Lucy and Rufus will get there. It just takes daily interaction. I was sorry to hear about the devastation from the storm in OK. Hopefully by now (a couple months later) the family and businesses are starting to get back on their feet. It was neat how the trailer was made near where you live, while your vet's chute system was made in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan (Canada), very near by where I grew up as a child. Best wishes. Keep trying for those crea. There is nothing cuter than a baby alpaca (well baby goats maybe). My daughter worked several summers for our family friend's alpaca farm and even delivered a crea that was not coming on its own a couple years ago. The vet was so impressed that she did that and was adamant that she likely saved the baby, if not the mama, that they named the baby after her, haha. They chose her middle name to use (Jayde) because it would be too confusing when my daughter was there to call "Kelsey" and have both a human and an alpaca respond! Have a blessed day and keep up the great work. I thoroughly enjoy your channel, so thank you for sharing these videos with us. I love having Deejay and EmmaLeigh in the videos too! xo Heather🇨🇦

So very sorry to hear about the tornado. Definitely praying for them. Delighted to hear about Dolly, shame about the lack of pregnancy but I’m betting Rufus will get the job done once she comes into season again. Alpacas can be a bit finicky from what I’ve heard, although I’ll readily admit I don’t have a whole lot of experience with them (but I do love ‘em!). Fingers crossed your old gal Callie does better now that you have a better idea what’s up with her. Elderly dogs often require special care, but after all their years of service and devotion it’s the least we can do for them and I really respect you for making sure she is healthy and comfortable. Hey, young master Houston - I think you’re doing a fine job of announcing the info and helping out your dad, and I really enjoy watching your family’s videos when you’re in them. If I could, I’d just offer a tiny bit of advice: there’s an old saying that says you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Now I know that sounds silly, but what I mean with that is being respectful, calm and kind with animals will often gain you much better results than being loud or forceful. You’re a wonderfully sensitive and smart young man, and I know you’re a huge help for your parents. My grandson is a lot like you, and he also is learning how to be a really great animal handler - and much like you were in this video, he can sometimes be a little louder or a little rougher than might be needed. I have absolutely no doubt you are both going to grow up into amazing young men with so much to offer the world. You rock! I hope you and your terrific parents know I say all of this with the utmost love and respect - I guess I just get a little sad sometimes when I see you trying so hard, and perhaps it’s because you remind me so much of my grandson, I don’t know...but I truly only want to try to offer a little advice to help you succeed. I’m betting it’s nothing your own folks haven’t already said before though, so I’ll shush now 😉❤️ Sincerely hoping everyone remains healthy and happy, and praying for you all that there are no further losses from tornados - or anything else.
