That's how my mom was, and how I was when our son was younger. Most of the neighbor kids mom's worked and they knew we were always home and I fed them snacks or meals!😉

yep, all the neighborhood kids were always at my house. some stayed a little while, some stayed all day, and some stayed all night. My record was 17 staying all night. In my kids bedroom with the beds lashed together. The kids were small so all heads out & feet pointing to the middle. And my king comforter covered them all. I took 6 with me & my kids on their last kids vacation. They picked an amusement park & I picked camping at the lake. The clubhouse had a band that night & kareokie. They were out until midnight. Came back to campsite for s'mores & popcorn. Got up the next morning, broke camp and drove 20 miles to amusement park. Waited for them to open. Stayed all day until they closed. Then I drove over 300 miles back to our hometown & delievered everyone to their homes. They still take about the greatest vacation they took with me.

My house was the gathering spot 👌 for the kids in the neighborhood as well as 3 or 4 that came from school!! Weekends would come and there was always 1 but up to 7 for Friday night and/or Saturday even until Monday morning when kids were brought back to school with freshly laundered clothes & a sack lunch 😋 with a full 😋 belly from breakfast!!! My dad always ❤ 💙 came over Saturday night after mass for dinner or early dinner on Sunday (3pm). All the boys called him Grandpa and for Father's Day 💙 would all together ❤ give him their card and gift plus out to dinner a couple of days or week before the Father's day. Their parents were all very nice 👌 and never said No unless for a family function. At Christmas time I had open house for neighbors and friends especially for the kids which quite often brought their parents to the open house! I usually started baking & cooking as early as Oct finishing on the day of or night before!! Everyone left with a goodies bag plus toured the rooms because each was decorated with a different theme like snow babies, animals, antique ornaments & related Christmas items & always, Disney. We also took one person to stay the night on Christmas eve to have an old fashion family day. They always received a stocking and 10 presents 🎁!! Of course we included adults especially elderly living alone to do it to also. I stopped almost 20yrs ago when I moved to the country where I am now!!! To this day they never fail to bring it up & reminisce about!! The majority are married with family. But the most rewarding thing is to know Every single One has taken from their experience back then to do several of the things that they loved & inspired them into doing as an adult with family!! Thanks 😊 for sharing with these kids because you are leaving a huge impression & influence of what to have in their adult lives!! I guarantee that you might not know it or see it yet especially with your own kids but it's a reward for you both!! Thanks 😊 again, for the way Our world is the Children need every extra blessing they can get!!!!

When my kids were teens I always had a house full and they all called me mom. Now they are all grown with families of their own and yes they still call me mom and now I get the bonus of being Grandma too!!! Several of the kids that hung around my house had a not so good home life so I was glad to show them what a normal (if you can call having a house full of teens normal) family is like, and that they as a human being were valued and respected.

I worked for NM State Parks and at my Park there was pastures rented out to horses and two Burrows. There was a barb wire fence between properties, so I got some apples and most of the horses would come and eat apples, except 1 horse. Finally the other horses moved on and the last horse stayed way off out in left field. I kept calling it and it finally came, I held the apple quarter in my open hand, it came up and nibbled on the apple and it fell to the ground. That horse took off like a Rocket, bucking bronco all the way back out to where he was before..! Sort of like the Mini Female Donkey just did on you channel..! =)

Exactly. We kinda ran into that after our oldest moved out and we realized that very soon we're goin to be empty nesters. Then our youngest moved out. We didnt know what to do with ourselves but what tv. Not very exciting. Then date nite was created. Gave us both something to look forward to. But then, our youngest called and asked if he could move back in. What could we say... A year later and hes still home with his 2 dogs i might add. We know he'll move soon enough.
