Love schecter as a company, twice they helped me out when they didn’t have too, once they got me a truss rod cover of a limited edition guitar that hadn’t been made in over 5 years, engraved with that special edition on it when mine went missing, I emailed them asking if I could by a blank cover figuring I was out of luck, they made it up special for me and sent it free of charge. Another time I contracted them about finding a source to buy a black chrome finished tuning peg as mine had the screw inside that holds the gear strip , they didn’t have anything to help replace it as it was a special finish for that bass that was out of production,but sent me the parts to replace in inside parts of the tuner so I could use mine again, for no charge again, not even shipping (as little as that’d be) It’d be a company I’d be happy to buy from again and again Sorry for the novel

I own the 7 string and honestly, I am unimpressed by its mid and low range tones, but surprisingly I think it really shines for soloing down at the bottom end of the neck. It gives a really juicy yet cold outer spacey tone when you solo there on this guitar especially with some delay and reverb on top. Kinda like what he's doing at 11:00-11:20 or so. But I find the 7 even better because you can hit the lower strings down there and get a lot of "thickness" due to the size of the strings and still have a wider range in that bottom area than on the 6 version. Maybe the multiscale makes a difference in tone too, not totally sure. I guess that's good for metal / hard rock for a solo or bridge of a song, not really my favorite for riffing and chugging though.

The finish is super cool but just wanted to point out it's actually pretty easy to accomplish. Paint the bottom black layer. Let it dry. Coat completely in silver, wrap in some type of plastic sheet, press where you want the paint removed and pull it off. And boom, you have yourself a completely unique finish that looks sweet and is within mass production parameters

@Russian Account Also a Schecter fan and owner here! I own a 2003 PT Blackjack that came with Duncan's so it's a bit strange for me to see Schecter shipping their guitars with their own pickups haha. Haven't had a chance to play on any of their in shop ones so was curious.
@artiefischel25795 жыл бұрын
What the heck does "multiscale" mean? I have a 7 string Schecter, I can play more than one scale on it, I'm confused.
@MusingMuso5 жыл бұрын
@@artiefischel2579 This is from Strictly7's website: "Think of banging a giant gong versus tapping tiny finger cymbals together. With most instruments, lower notes come from larger, longer sources. Deep bass tones come from giant tubas, while smaller trumpets hit shriller pitches. Likewise, longer strings carry the low notes on harps and pianos, with shorter strings for high-pitched notes. Traditional guitars, on the contrary, try to jam a range of pitches from all 6, 7, 8 or 9 strings onto a single scale length. That’s why certain frets may fall out of tune, higher pitches may sound brittle, and lower notes may sound floppy. The scale length may be right for one of the strings, but it’s typically not long enough for low, thick strings, nor short enough for high, thin ones. A multiscale design fixes that. Instead of lining up parallel, frets are fanned out at an angle, with angled nuts and bridges as well. This simultaneously makes bass scales longer and treble scales shorter, giving each string its own appropriate length. On S7G’s Cobra S7 7-String Multi-scale Guitar, for example, the scales range from 25.5” to 27.5” for benefits across the whole fingerboard."
@DJENTISNTNOTAGENRE5 жыл бұрын
Honestly, Schecter is one of the only brands I know that actually make really good in house pickups. That being said, everyone has their own taste so it will benefit you by changing them if you're not into the sound their pickups produce.
@artiefischel25795 жыл бұрын
@@MusingMuso Thanks. So 'multiscale' is marketing speak for the more descriptive 'fanned frets'? That's all well and good, though I can't help but notice that Bucky & John Pizzarelli, Robert Conti, even Javier Reyes on the solo work I've seen here on KZbin, all have standard fretting and I can't believe any of them would put up with flappy strings or buzzy notes, and they all use fairly clean tones where you could really hear it. Anyhow, thanks again.

Nice guitar and great review/playing. I especially like the option of the split coils and the resulting tones. I have an LP with a split on the neck PU that I love. I'm discovering SS frets are really comfortable to play. I'm an old guy who's been playing for 50+ yrs and I sometimes have arthritis issues in my hands. The guitars I have with SS frets require less effort/lighter touch. The difference is especially evident with jumbos that are tall as well as wide.

Well done, Darrell, as usual. The guitar is spectacular-looking - that's a genuinely original paint scheme, and I like the arched top, as well. It might be the most versatile electric you've tested in terms of tone. It can certainly do metal, and sounds just like it should when doing so, but I was especially interested in the clean tones, which are excellent, and it sounds good split, as well. I don't play metal, mostly blues and country, and this is an instrument that sounds like it would quite competently perform both genres. It's way out of my price range, of course, but I can always dream…

*I prefer the Schecter C1-E/A that you have mounted above your pedal case there behind your left shoulder. I have one just like it myself... You should do a video on it... With its splitable humbuckers, its acoustic piezo bridge saddle pickups, half semi-hollow design, and ultra access heel 24 fret neck, it's a killer guitar. With its mahogany body and set neck construction, and tune-o-matic bridge, it has a very Gibsonesqe resonance. The icing on the cake is that while most semi-hollow guitars do not have any control access plate on the back, making modifications and repairs a major pain, having to fish all the electronics through the F-holes and pickup routs, this updated model, (there was an earlier model with the same name that had 22 frets and no back plate), does include a back plate, making mods and repairs a breeze. The only other mass produced semi-hollows that I know of that come with electronics compartment back plates are the Gibson and Epiphone BB King Lucile models, which are basically ES-355s, but without F-holes... Seriously... You really need to do a video on the Schecter C1-E/A...*
