60 year guitarists here. owned it all 4x :) i bought a spark go 2 days ago. plugged it into my HR 108 and have been playing ever since. ,my spark was really bright so i added an eq pedal between it and the HR. killed the irritating frequencies. i had read that the spark was bassy but mine was not. i had zero probs getting it all to work and it pairs with my phone perfectly. i play mostly satriani tunes so the sustained lead is where i live. i found that the american hi-gain is the ticket for me. just ordered the footswitch. with a bit of tweeking it sounds just as good as my tonex,helix,etc. i cannot imagine how they can sell this quality of tones for this price.

You know, I hadn't played my Spark in quite while until last weekend. I got a new strat (a daphne blue '62 avri) and updated the firmware on the Spark as well as updated the app and it sounds noticeably better. Before it was too dark or muffled, too much bass. But it sounds a tad brighter and it's really a great little amp and I use it primarily with headphones at nice. They couldn't have made a more user friendly platform with this thing and it's endless options. The dumble-esque amp REALLY sounds good. That one was the sweet spot with my new strat! Anyway, I might look into this cab, although I don't really have a use for one, it looks really really nice!

The only thing holding me back from using my Spark 40 and purchasing a Spark Cab for large venues is the fact the Spark EQ and Modulation cannot be used separately in the same Preset/Tone. If PG created a SPARK software update with separate EQ and Modulation I would purchase a Spark Cab. I play Rock, Pop, Funk and Ballads with a weekend gigging band so I use a variety of Tones. I don’t find it practical or effective to add an external EQ as I use different EQ settings for different Tones. Until then or if it ever happens I will continue using my high end Guitar Effects Processor. But keeping my fingers crossed that it may happen some day.🤞

Darrel, here’s a topic for you. Which type of cabinet is louder, sealed or open back. You could test this with two cabs or a convertible cab and if you use two cabs, use the same speaker in both. I’ve heard that sealed cabinets project the sound better, but an open cab can provide a bigger radiating effect when positioned in a room properly.

I have a Spark 40 and am thinking about the cab. The only thing about the 40 is the fact that even with all it's innovation, they didn't build a looper system in it. To me, that would be the ultimate. Instead of introducing smaller and smaller amps why not come out with something similar to the 40 with that looper system built in. Call it the "40plus" maybe. I would buy it.
@jasonswitzer174811 ай бұрын
I 100% agree with you. The lack of a looper is the one thing holding me back from getting a Spark. Side note… why the heck is fender not in this space? I know they have their little Mustang GT20s or whatever it’s called, but it doesn’t work with the a fender Tone app, and I don’t think it has a looper either. To me, a looper is a no brainer. I wonder if it’s just software based? If so, they could add the feature to current Spark owners and generate some goodwill. If they ever make a Spark 40+ or whatever they’d call it, I’d like a looper, a wired 4 or 7 button foot switch (the wireless one should be comparable… just make that optional), and perhaps even a wireless system to compete with the katana air. Find a way to undercut the Katana Air and they would sell a million of these things.
@donrepcon770411 ай бұрын
@@jasonswitzer1748 The XSONIC footswitch can add a looper to the Spark but I want to research it a little more. Also, since we are on the subject of a Spark 40+, they should add a second input jack. That would make a great unit. I would most definitely sell my 40 and get a 40+. With the cabinet added this would make a great system. Do you think Positive Grid would build that?
@jasonswitzer174811 ай бұрын
@@donrepcon7704 no idea if PG would build it, but it seems like they’d be crazy not too. The Boss Katana and Yamaha offer wireless options, as does NUX, while NUX offers a built in looper. Spark Cab sounds good. My dilemma, my amp will output XLR (DI) to an FRFR like this Spark Cab or regular amp output to 8 ohm cab. I know there's pro and cons to either, I'm just not settled yet which is ideal for me today. I rarely use a speaker these days, doing mostly recording the DI so either way I want to keep the cost low. There are some good 12" cabs with at low prices. Whereas FRFR cabs are pricey though this Spark Cab seems reasonable. For garage/venue a 8ohm cab is best, but for working with mix boards the FRFR is, but I could end up either way that rare time.

Here’s what their email actually says - “Upon checking your issue, we've verified your unit as out-of-warranty, please note that a fee of 60 USD is needed for the process.” The process means a new replacement. Of course, it would need postage adding on. All details are provided in the email from their support. You could get the replacement and sell it and get a fair chunk back. @@jasonswitzer1748 you need to be able to control everything with your feet which you can't really do even with an add on pedal. More than 4 presets. Floor tuner. Control multiple effects with 1 switch. Expression/volume pedal. Setlists. If you look at something like a Pod Go or HX Stomp, you will see dozens of gigging features that the Spark doesn't have. No shame for the Spark. It was built to be a practice amp and it's great for that. It has lots of practice features that other amps don't have.

Does it work with other amps outside of the spark series?

this channel could have twice the amount of comments without the very annoying telegram infection you get on every comment here sadly, youtube should find a solution for this issue asap 🙈🙈

noo chance, once you have it you will be hounted as long as your channel exists. the only solution is to create a new channel, and hope that they will not find you too soon again.a lot of serious YT influencers had to do this just to make their channel appear more serious again since telegram make every channel look unserious and takes away all the the fun of making comments anymore.

Wouldn't any powered pa cabinet work?
@DarrellBraunGuitar11 ай бұрын
Yup, however this one can work with headphone outputs and can power small desktop amps and anything that runs of USB power which are unique features ;)

He makes the thing look bigger than it is. What I want to know is-what does it weigh?
