I think that scepter’s isle is very pretty as well as savoy, wollerton old hall and the red Kordes rose on your arch. These are my favorite roses in your garden. Nice tomato plants and sweet peas.

Beeutiful! the bees must love it there. Lady of Shalott was the stand out of the day for me. I WILL have one next year. And also Jubilee Celebration. Something about that rose grabbed me from the start. I live in the Endless Mountains of NE Pennsylvania zone 5b. The first flush of roses is just about at it's peak right now and Golden Celebration, Gabriel Oak, Munstead Wood and Sceptre d Isle are showing off. The perfumes are heady! My most prolific bloomer and allround vigorous charmer is the climber Honeymoon from the Arborose series. Very faint sweetness which is a sacrifice to me but I bought it anyway and highly recommend it. I mention it because you have another in the series, Florentina, and she looks fabulous even though again the drenching smell is again missing. Sometimes we have to make exceptions in life and these two enthusiastic climbers are more than welcome! Don't quit rhyming!

Your garden is looking beautiful Darren. You must get so much pleasure stepping into your garden especially at this time of year. A rose garden to be proud of for sure 🥰 I do have the same disease issue with Lady Emma Hamilton...such a shame as the blooms are beautiful.

You must work really hard to keep your garden looking so beautiful! I agree about Gabriel Oak which seems to want to expand outwards rather than upwards. For someone who likes fragrance I can recommend Winter-flowering honeysuckle as a 2m shrub which sends out waves of scent during the winter/spring as you walk past - similar in effect to Philadelphus. We inherited one in our garden and love it.
@darren-harwood2 жыл бұрын
Oh wow! How lucky to inherit such a beauty! Ooh I’ll try to get some… great idea…. Thank you!! Xx

Yes I am always worried about some of my plants blocking the sunlight off other ones (I worry about it too much considering I have a more open sunny garden compared to your more woodlandy one!) so I can empathise with the situation that those delphinium leaves unfortunately had to be cut off. The philadelphus is a great plant, I assume it would be good for bees with the scent and stamens on your single-flowered variety, too bad there were no bees on it when you filmed it. I still hope you keep the scabiosa for the bees and butterflies despite you describing it as looking a bit messy!
@darren-harwood2 жыл бұрын
Hello my love Yes I kept the scabious :) And the delphiniums are now cut right back (hopefully for a second flush) How’s your garden looking? Can we please have a full garden tour? 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
