I actually like Tebow but he was no where near the talent of McFadden. I was very disappointed in 2007, McFadden was the best player in the NCAA.

D-Mac truly gave the Hogs everything he had. A shame it meant he could not stay healthy at the next level, but he is by far my absolute favorite all time HOG!!! Just a shame that he did not have a QB to compliment him, and as always with our team our offense has to score high points to win since our defense gave up so much all the time. Such a shame. These D-Mac teams could have gone so far with just a little bit better defensive play from our team.

The 2006 defense was solid. What killed that team was like you said poor QB play and the Nutt-Gus-Mustian drama. The 2007 team did have a blah defense though and had Nutt as HC still.

Yet still could not get to a bcs bowl. Needed to be better in the three games where teams scored 50-31, and 38 on us all losses. USC game we had no chance, and did not expect to win that game. LSU, and Florida game was heartbreaking. QB play vs Florida was awful, and our defense could not do anything to stop them. They had some decent plays now, and then, but overall we were just out matched against their offense, and Dick (completely fitting last name) did nothing to help them out. And don't get me started on the Mustain drama cause I'll be here all day typing about that!!!

Too be fair, 14 of the points scored by UF were on special teams and the offense turned it over 5 times to USC and didn't do squat overall. LSU also had a kickoff for a score and one of their other TDs they got the ball inside the Hogs 30. QB play was even worse against LSU.

+WARMACHINE2013 a couple other plays I've wanted to find from former players was the time Mallet ran over a guy scrambling(maybe Kentucky?) and the time Matt Jones scrambled to the right and switched hands to the throw the ball left handed for a completion.

As a Heisman voter you get your top 3 candidates. You write them in and the Heisman comity tallies the votes. Coach spurier was the only voter not to put McFadden on his top 3 in the ballot. So spurier left McFadden completely off his ballot. It was the closest vote in Heisman history to date. If spurier would of put McFadden on his ballet at any position McFadden would of won. I've hated spurier ever since. He is a prick of a human being, and any one who has spent any time around him will tell you so. I'm glad he was a bust at south Carolina. And left mid season. He did the same shit to Tim Tebo, he was the only coach not to vote Tim Tebo, preseason #1 qb in the SEC Tebo's senior year. He was called out about it to at a press conference. He just shrugged it off and blamed someone on his staff for the over sight. The man's a f'"-ing prick.

I think there are a couple things that held back that 2006 team and prevented DMAC from winning the Heisman as a sophomore (not mentioning the fact everyone said they couldn't give the Heisman to a sophomore even though they gave it to a sophomore the very next year). First, DMAC got into that fight where he kicked his toe off. That caused him to be seriously hurt for the USC game and caused a lot of sports commentators to question his character all year long. Next, Gus Malzahn not getting to run the offense. I think if Malzahn had run the offense in 06 he would have made it unstoppable. It's just crazy that we had that backfield and Damian Williams and Marcus Monk as well as that Oline and weren't able to win a couple more games that year. We certainly underperformed in the Citrus Bowl and the SECCG. Our defense was stout that year too. Also, I don't want to name names but attempting to catch that punt is what really cost us in the SECCG. So many things that could have been for Arkansas football the past 12 years!

Oh yeah, and the fact that Steve Spurrier didn't give Darren McFadden a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place vote for the Heisman in 2007 on his ballot (When voting for the Heisman you vote for your top 3) after he ran for 321 yards against his team that was supposed to have one of the best rush defenses in the nation...I'll never forget that abour Steve Spurrier.
