After the Whittaker loss: “I know that if I turn it 100% up, I know I can beat Whittaker” After the Brunson loss: “On my best night, Brunson takes me down, I bounce back up and get the finish” He always talks about how he would do at his best, yet he hasn’t showed it, if he wants to succeed he needs to make big changes

He has showed himself at his best. He murdered cowboy Cerrone, and went 5 rounds to a SPLIT decision with Whittaker over a single takedown. He’s one of the best in the division and need small changes to be champ

His entire mentality of fighting changed after the woodley beatediwn He’s in full sparring mode. No aggression. Other than the first part of the Brunson fight which he was doing well.

@@furhadnasserjah123 Bro he beat a CTE riddled old cowboy whom is a lightweight and Darren is a god damn middle weight, he's nowhere near being good in his divion or any divion for that matter. The dude has fought 10 times in the last 6 years, has lost 4 of his last 5 and that Gastelum decision was split, so techincally he could be on a 5 fight losing streak and should be released from the UFC. He will get released if he loses his next fight, i can guarantee you that, if you think this loser is gonna get a title shot you are delusional :) Darren's kickboxing is no where near as good as it should be to write off the mistakes he makes because of his garbage and poor grappling, he will never be a champ unless he learns how to grapple, and considering it's been 3 and a half years since he was exposed to be ultra weak at grappling by Woodley, the dude has improved 0% in 3 and a half years, he ain't taking this MMA stuff seriously at all, let him go back to kickboxing and muay thai.

Really like Darren but he has been to Brazil and trained muay thai but when ever he fights its so basic like a 1,2. No body shots. Hands down, chin up in the air. Why doesn't he use more of his tools and the main killer why is his output so low. Just a jab or leg kick would secure him rounds and chip away at his opponents.

@Mr DeShaun That has nothing to do with the point of referencing them. Easily could have mentioned Michael Bisping as well, who only has 2 wins by submission in 39 pro fights. Became champion later after losing early in his career. The point is that he's trying to win a world title, so believing in himself and using other fighters as an example is something that makes sense.

@Mr DeShaun Bums can go 5 rounds with Robert Whittaker in a close fight? 5 Rounds and best Wonderboy? Close fight. 3 rounds and beat Gastelum? MMA is a tough sport with so many variables if things went even the slightest difference in a fight or two he could be a champion. Dudes not a bum if you think a 1 2 is all he has you don’t understand anything about striking. His movement and defensive striking is incredible. (Among other attributes).

*Till needs to fight often, and fight against strikers.* Till vs Costa would be a good fight that could catapult him up the rankings. He needs to improve his BJJ, so even if he gets taken down, then he’s a monster on the ground. But, he needs to be aggressive again! Throwing elbows and frame off clinches, following with heaps of low kicks, work on his jab, and just be on the front foot. His lack of aggression is ruining him.

Funny how Bisping recently said that Dustin might never get the belt but still holds out faith that Darren will, i'm sorry, but Darren will never touch the belt either unless his stand up is amazingly unique and dangerous (which it really isn't) or if he would be well rounded (which clearly he is not because all of his most embarrasing loses came by being man handled in grappling) Everyone like to put Bisping as an example of how they can win late, yes because Bisping got a little bit lucky by fighting a chinless Rockhold, but other than that, at least Bisping NEVER lost two in a row his entire career until his retirement bout, neither has Poirier his whole career, never lost two in a row. And here we have Darren, losing 4 out of his last 5 and ppl still believe he will be anything more than a journeyman is baffling to me. You will never see one dimensional champs anymore in the UFC in recent times, you are either very well rounded and got the belt, or your one dimension, be it striking or grappling, has to be on some godly level to write off the mistakes by not being good at both striking and grappling, and the only one who has been able to do that in recent memory is Israel, because his striking is just too good and grapplers can't do very much. If you look at every champs from all divisions, all of them are very well rounded, only Usman is more of a grappler but his stand up is getting better and better, and Israel is more of a striker but he still has decent takedown defense, Ngannou is also more of a striker, but the only reason he was able to win the belt from Stipe the 2nd time is because he learned wrestling defense and how to scramble. To enclose, Darren is currently too one dimensional to ever compete for the belt, unless he improves his grappling, he will remain where he is forever :P and i'm not trying to be mean, just realistic, darren isn't taking this seriously cause if he did, he would have improved his grappling from the moment he lost to Woodley, but considering he lost his last two because of his sub par grappling i don't think he's training grappling at all. P.S. Also funny how Darren has 10 matches in 6 years and managed to get one finish :P i really don't think he will ever get that belt based on his record and how he is progressing.

I also think if he stopped going to nandos and took his diet and staying lean seriously, he could go back to 170 and be a serious problem. Im not sure he really wants the title, he could of made 170 if he really dieted, look at conor at 145 or khabib at 155 that was true art making weight

@Mr DeShaun I like till but I’m not even a big fan, his wrestling was surprisingly bad but he’s gonna be in his prime for the next 6 years , you think his game isn’t going to get alot better? He’s a smart guy and he’s got drive it’s to early to call him journeymen, And just because you’re supporting one fighter doesn’t mean you can’t support another😂I like vettori alot and I’m aware he’d beat till’s ass

Nothing against Till but he has been the most overrated fighter in the UFC for sometime. Never deserved a title shot or a top 5 ranking.

He’s just not that good, only has a couple of good wins, wonderboy was a complete toss up I thought wonderboy, gastelum has multiple losses and a beat up cerrone. Like we will see when paddy gets beat up at LW, having a funny accent and being funny doesn’t mean anything

Why can’t Conor be like this anymore? Darren has always been great, he’s hilarious, intelligent and respectful. I’ve been a fan from day one if only Leon had Darren or Paddy’s charisma he would be a lot further in his title run, it’s unfortunate that rankings are being based on popularity and not skill or wins and losses like it used to be.
