Installing flooring and kitchen units

Today we laid the vinyl click flooring and installed some base units.

Thanks. The underlay is 2mm and I think the flooring is about 4.5mm thick

Any reason you laid the flooring in the direction you did? Does it align with other flooring outside the kitchen?

I tend to lay perpendicular to the door. Also the room is quite long so this way helps to create a wider feel. You can lay either way though. The flooring outside will likely be different but this is still under review! Peace

Been watching Americans lay. Flooring using soft hammers you do not why? .

No hammer needed for this type of floor. I sometimes use on wooden floor but on most laminate floors it’s not necessary. Americans tend to use real wood more than the Uk. It’s definitely cheaper in America as it’s plentiful. Very expensive here. Also most of these laminates have a click system so you don’t usually need to hammer anything.
