@@ChosenGemInEye Ok then go do it. I’ve heard and seen this stupid little shenanigan a million times with my own eyes. My favorite part is when they call the real contractor to fix there work and laugh behind there back at the “flooring”. can you even set up the male and female? Do you even have the strength to pick up a miter saw and put it on the bench? Or do you just run your mouth on youtube? Cause i’m actually a professional general contractor and do this damn work every single day for the past 25+ years.

Ms. Blossom, I am a flooring professional and let me tell you, my wife is probably better than I am and it makes me glow with pride watching her work. I have no idea what you are doing or going to do in this life, but if you ever think this industry is a man's industry, you would be wrong and I would love to see more ladies competing in the market. Excellent video! I have been in construction 30+ years, you demonstrated and explained everything very well! A personal tip; when I installed my quarter round, use a thin piece of cardboard or similar spacer to allow the floor to expand/contract without touching the quarter round or toe board. It also allows the use of tape, or wide putty knife, under the quarter round if you need to paint it without touching the flooring.

When I splice a piece of shoe in to make it longer I use a 22.5 miter cut, it's even less noticeable than a 45, and also on inside corners I run one piece of shoe flush with no miter cut all the way to the wall, and cut the other piece with a 45 and use a coping saw to notch out along that line where the bare wood and paint meet, makes for a better look, and makes cauking go alot faster.

I’ve watched a lot of videos on KZbin. And I really find it hard to watch some videos based on the verbal description I am receiving in the video editing that was presented. I can say hands-down without a doubt I love every video you’ve ever done your descriptions are on point in your video editing is fantastic it’s simple and it’s concise and directly to the point. If there was a nomination for KZbin videos. I would do my utmost to help you become number one. I love all of your videos keep going man

As a professional flooring installer I appreciate your video. I can tell by your workmanship that you're super handy. I personally prefer a random stagger with the material. I believe the manufacturer recommends each board is staggered double the width of the material..

Impressive video! I'm confident now I won't let my husband down. We're building a storage/shed/tiny house for a client & he put me in charge of the flooring. Laminate flooring is a little "over the top'" for storage , I know, but then again, so is insulating the attic! Lol ..like I said it's more like a tiny house 🏠 thanks again

If you have trim that can be removed relatively easily (this stuff was pretty high, and was probably glued and stapled to the wall), you can usually pull it off, and drop it back in right on top of the laminate. Will keep you from needing to use the quarter round. When I set up installs, I normally only use Quarter round to hide expansion joints on cabinets, hearths and the like.. oh and wainscotting... that is not going anywhere lol.

I really enjoy watching your videos. Just wanted you to know, (if you were unaware) that laminate floors do not fluctuate like other flooring. On a scale of 1-10 on fluctuation it's a 0.01. The laminate has come so far now days and this is a common mistake. Just wanted you to know what I just found out. Not meaning to be a got ya moment. Just wanted to share what I just learned the other day. Please know I have the most respect for you and what you do. Your amazing.

Thank you, I appreciate you watching :). As far as the movements, I don't disagree at all, I like to look at each manufacturer notes. Since I am making a video, I don't want to say what I think. The manufacturer knows their product very well, so for good practice, I want to stay within the parameters. I am not sure how it will perform in other parts of the world. In Florida, I don't see much movements. The manufacturer recommends 5/16-3/8in for the expansion gap. On all sides, :/. Since I am doing it for a client/ my neighbor, I don't want it to come back and bit me.

@@DIYCreators you are right, always leave an expansion joint. Laminate is still a wood product, and it can still move. Heck, even a SPC Vinyl, which is polymer and limestone still needs an expansion joint even if it does not need to be acclimated. If you are a professional, you don't want to screw someone out of a warranty because you didn't want to follow the installation instructions.

Fantastic job man! As an artist, I would say (in general, and second to laying it on the longest direction), is laying the boards in the direction of the main window, so that the daylight captures the perspective lines of the flooring (as you've done here).
