Wow two smart meters in a row, and both are a definite step up. Ive never been a big fan of the whole "cell phone" multi-meter format, but it certainly does seem Kaiweets is showing a serious effort to make this format more desirable and popular. My only negative is a question on battery life, the fact it comes with four AA's is a tell-tale of high battery consumption especially on these displays which im guessing could be power hungry, but im only posing the question not stating facts. I really like the full manual option, always good to have. I have to admit this and the recently reviewed one before it are both serious efforts in the growth of smart meters as a popular option. Kudos to Kaiweets they really seem to be paying attention to past shortcomings in these meters and addressing them in a meaningful manner. If I didnt have SO many meters I would be wanting one of these babys.

Smart Meters don't seem to perform any more functions than the manual versions but sure look the goods. Am I correct in thinking the manual versions seem more solid and will have a longer lifespan?

It's hard to gauge long term longevity..I think a big part is the user experience, some people are really tough on multimeters. I do think if you were to use it for serious automotive work it might not stand up as well as a traditional dmm which can be more forgiving to oil, scratches and dirt in general.

Very interesting looking meter. I have been using a Kaiweets HT118A for a while now and love it. This one appears to be the same fine construction.

Regarding the lack of tilt stand I want one too but I think these two Kaiweets are designed for best viewing angle when flat. Great job Darren!

Any rough tough meter which can bear 350v dc or 230v ac on continuty range or resistance range .any 9000 counts meter can tolerate this kind of mistake.smart multimeter tolerate this kind of mistake or not?

Kaiweets are certainly coming out with some great goods. Intriguing that the display was sharper than the KM601, very healthy test voltage for the diode function as well. Real nice meter for electronics work. Thanks for another excellent review.

A thing of beauty. I thought the screen looked fantastic before you peeled the protective covering. Perhaps, the will make a protective case that includes a stand like some cell phones have so that you can watch Daren Walker videos on KZbin.

Nice job Kaiweets! Seems like solid NCV considering no bump-out. Is that front plastic or glass? Will it get scratched?

It has a very hard thin plastic protective film on top that seems quite robust.. I think it should hold up fairly well although it's definitely not as strong as a typical dmm just because the design allocates alot of real estate to the screen.

Pretty nice looking DMM, but I´m a litte concerned: - How readable is this kind of Display? - Is it able to read low voltages (Millivolt)?

@@KeepOnTesting First things first: Thank You for the effort to provide the pics. The display works very well in daylight, even compared to original OLED´s. That´s not the case with every inverted LCD. Do You have any estimation about the lifespan of a set of batteries? I assume the 10 mV are resulting from the resolution and there is no special mV or mA range. Have I got it coppy right?

600Y doesnt have REL function either, something I like in a bench meter, about the only thing I really dislike about the 601 is the bottom lead placement, but still quite a meter and ten thousand count display

Oh! Surprised that the ST600Y has a brighter, more contrasty LCD than the KM601. And very surprised that there is such a discrepancy in DCV reading -- not crazy different, but enought to say, hmm 🤔. That said, I still want me some Kaiweets.

This is a really big screen. It looks like it needs backlight to read it so the battery life can't be that great. But It looks really nice. 👍

You don't really need a tilt stand on the ST600Y as the screen is designed to read while lying flat on the surface that you are working on,bench etc,better screen resolution than when it's sitting up at an angle,I regularly use mine while under a car bonnet and sitting on top of the engine or battery and it's very clear

The high quality case is very useful as well with extra storage functionality in it. EBTN display is definitely more vibrant in colour and brightness on this one. If they would give tilt stands and easy fuse access in these cheap-o multimeters after feedback from your videos, their sales would be boosted. Continuity could also be fixed by high quality test leads even if it gets somewhat expensive. The ST maybe stands for Smart Tech which it def. is. . . . . . Kaiweets ?

Yes its very similar, they utilize the same pcb. However, the companies are separate entities with different ideals.

Darren, Did you mention that the ST600Y doesn’t accept standard banana boots, so if the leads are smoked not likely to be easily or economically replaced!!
