I've been using the Audio-Technica ATH m40x for few months in my home studio for music production, in this video I'll share my experience so far, and will also discuss some very basic questions I've received when it comes to mixing on professional headphones vs consumer headphones.

Trust me. He's absolutely right. The ATH m40x's are the best within the 8k range If you can spend about 4 thousand more ...you can go for beyerdynamic DT 770 it's for about 12000 but it's a fucking beast.

I don't know what's used in that song but the 3 mentioned by you are just pitch correction plugins. You'll still need to use something for EQ, Compression, reverb & delay.

See, the m40s are a flat sounding headphones, buy a good consumer brand headphone like sennheiser or something, the m40s sound flat and try not to enhance any frequency

Darshit Nayak Respect brother. I am an regular follower of your vids. infect I find it the most authentic source. But I suggest people follow some well organised course for music along side youtube. Coz its easy be lost in those youtube videos. it takes really an organize mind and focus to learn from youtube. But its my opinion. :)

@@yadurocky I totally agree with you, however the online course have same issue, quality. Since anyone can create one it's difficult as a beginner to differentiate a good option from the rest. I feel it's good to start of on KZbin get some grip and also to identify our weak points to figure out what's it we need to work more on. The problem is of sequence, from which topic to start and which topic to go on next, one way to solve it is to go on any reputed university's website and see the course curriculum, follow that sequence while learning on KZbin, and for quality check, the KZbin comments are a good tool, any genuine creator actively engages with the audience if there's something in the video which has created misunderstanding. I suggest these things keeping majority of Indian audience in mind, we are a budget conscious nation with low per capita income, one or two bad experiences of investing in not so good online courses can stop the learning process, hence this tedious but safer approach for general population, one who have spending potential shouldn't ofcourse be thinking this much. I hope I've been able to explain my thoughts without confusing. And thanks for your kind words. I might make an entire video on this topic, self learning, challenges and ways to overcome, in more depth.

There are many videos and forums where it's discussed that 40x are better than 50x dispite being less in price. The price difference isn't much right now so it hardly matters, I bought it because at that time price difference was way more between the two, and if I had to buy something more expensive I'd go for beyerdynamic 770 pro, it wasn't in my budget.

I checked them but didn't served my purpose... I'll suggest yahama headphones.. The best you can do if you are in Delhi/NCR... Go to Raj Musicials in Rajendra Nagar. They have 3-4 yahama model in open and will let you check n hear AT, SENH. headphones aswell via audio interface.. not by any low output device.
