No way is Vader OP here, and as I hope many expected that to be the case this shows just that. Arrogance, going in without planning, and then fight. Though he "lost" more than the fight, this may be an avenue to do another change to the Vader we know in 19 years from this point. We always knew his cybernetics were total crap. This guy picks Vader apart. MAYBE, we are all wrong that Vader NEVER got any upgrades. Maybe, as fights destroyed parts, he does, over time, get enhanced parts though these fights (where he may lose a body part, armor, etc.) He is in need of repairs (for non-cyborgs this would be called an operation ... parts, upgrades, repairs, this guy is not a human at all ...) from this short head on collision with the Jedi. If his ship needs two more days, and he is not able to get himself fixed up ... more than a few limbs will be detached for the moment. This book did fall short, but, forces (heh) the next issue to be a must purchase indeed.

Vader loosing is actually not that hard to believe. I think someone else in the comments descripted Vaders early state as a "Beast" that's not Anakin anymore but not Vader yet either.

Well in the EU vader lost quite a few times in lightsaber duels, I mean vader was powerful in the force but in all cases where he lost or was losing it was due to the fact that his enemy was a superior duelist. Like take the battlemaster Cin Dralig a jedi who was a master of every form of lightsaber combat in the EU when they fought anakin in his prime couldn't kill or defeat him through lightsaber skills alone, and had to actually rely completely on the force to immobilize him in order to beat him. If they had fought only using lightsaber skill Cin would have beaten and killed him. Similar things have happened in the comics before even when he was fully vader, so it's not that surprising.

it wasn't the suit. this Jedi was truly powerful. He was always immersed in the Force. No distractions. No politics, orders etc. fully one with the Force. It was the "new" Vader(post suit) who was fool hardy and not accustomed to his suit and his infancy into the Dark Side which led to his defeat here. Though if the Jedi had been smart he would have literally killed him then and there.

The fact that Vader's life support systems and his cybernetic limbs are so vulnerable actually makes him even more of a bad ass for being able to push through his struggles and eventually win anyway. Physical limitations be damned, Vader is still remarkably powerful in the force as well as physically, and he is a cunning strategist on top of it. He is an absolute juggernaut who just refuses to die!

Jordan Powell yeah it took him a couple of times to get this but when Luke gets the high ground he isn't baited (it only took him 23 years to understand it but he got there in the end) Anakin: "I am a slow learner." Gets owned by the high ground at least twice. Me: "You said it."

3:24 Darth Vader is the new Moses. I think it feels good to see Vader losing in this issue as it happens basically just after his surgery and shows that he is indeed limited by his new outfit and not so powerful as he was when he had (almost) all of his limbs as Anakin Skywalker. I like how it is explained how Vader had to be used to the suit and learn new powers to become the ultimate badass in the end. It could also explain further why Palpatine whas so disappointed by Vader's abilities. Cannot wait to see the rest of the story and see how the lightsaber's corruption happen in the new canon.

Content of the story aside, I really appreciate the production quality here; great graphics, music, and dialog to accompany the narration. I liked the way this story showed Vader as vulnerable. In the Star Wars movies, he was shown to be close to invincible between the time Anakin became Vader and his final battle with Luke.

Well, I think that the robotics of vader were weaker than grievous' one for purpose. Grievous was a warrior that got cyborgised and trained to spin sabers. Vader is a jedi knight that gave into the darkside, he had to learn his new strengths and his new weaknesses in order to master his potential in the dark side of the force. Not as a cyber-augmented soldier, but as a Sith warrior. Palpatine also probably felt how anakin was maybe "overestimating" his own capacities, he is strong but he had to learn how to master that strength the hard way.

Thank you for posting this video. This was a very good and interesting story and I would appreciate it if you posted a second video explaining and showing how Darth Vader ultimately gets the upper hand in this fight. He obviously won the fight as his story continues until he destroys the Sith and brings balance to the force, it is just a matter of knowing how he overcame this situation as he seemed to be defeated; but that is not the case here. He somehow wins this fight and it is just a matter of knowing how it unfolds. This is a fantastic video like all of the others on your channel.
