This figure looks pretty good! The helmet and body sculpt looks better than his Black Series version and this version can actually look up and down! One error that I noticed is that since this one is the A New Hope version, the shoulder pads should've been silver with those lines black. But I don't mind it, I going to use it as a Rogue One Vader, since he looks the same as A New Hope but with black shoulder pads. Really nice video, thanks for the review!

Thanks! And yes, the shoulder amour caps should have the same contrasting silver/gunmetal colour as the shoulder plate - we're so close to the perfect Darth Vader figure, perhaps Hasbro will tweak this one in a future re-release ⭐

Wow! They totally goofed up the paint apps on that chest! Definitely should be matte on the sides of the chest there, where the fabric is covering it. Might cancel my preorder now. Thanks for the review!

Perhaps I was a little caught up in excitement about a new Darth Vader figure as I was opening it up, but the gloss 'fabric' section is something I can't unsee now, and it's disappointing. Maybe there was a miscommunication between the design team and manufacturing - the sculpting is there, just not the right finish. Oh so close to being awesome, such an unfortunate misstep - fingers crossed it can be corrected in a running change.

I agree with you, that dark times Darth Vader is excellent. I also love the retro version of that figure. I still think those are the best, this one is good as well, but on my copy the plastic is a little bit rubber or flimsy which really distracts from it for me, thank you for posting

We love the Dark Times Darth Vader, so much that of course we ended up with two - one to keep carded, and one we opened for display. Not quite there with this version - if they fix the plastic texture of the 'fabric' over the shoulders in a later run, we would definitely get more ⭐

The original cardback lightsaber is pink ish color. The figure un the other hand i do like collect my darth vaders, theres one thing i don't agree with they should have kept from the old ones. The shoulder pads for old ones used be part the arm sculpt which gives more articulation. The new one is separate piece you cant turn it all the way around. Its not bad figure its got one flaw downside to it. The rest is okay. I have the kenobi vader i received from Christmas in 2022 or 2023 last year. I still like it. Its okay.

Haha yeah - my New Zealand accent is a little bit mixed at times. Lived in NZ all my life, but I guess I watch too many movies as I've been told I pronounce certain words with an slightly American accent! 😃
