Tone is lovely. She did participate this year as well, and made it to the final of Melodifestivalen. 🙂🏳️🌈 I hope she wins the final, and we can proudly send our beloved Tone Sekelius to Eurovision Song Contest. I also love Jon Henrik Fjällgren, and I hope either Jon Henrik Fjällgren or Tone Sekelius make it to the Final.

I love Tone! She is a big youtuber in Sweden, started of doing makeup tutorials. She was born as "Tomas" and for about two years ago she came out as transgender (you can see the "true colors" flashing in her face - transgender flag blue and pink). In the final she changed the colors into blue and yellow to represent the ukrainian flag. She is such a big perfomer - first time as a singer - but did a wonderful job at it and she has such a warm heart. I myself has a teenager that is on a transitional journey so we were so proud of Tone, making this statement.

I love when she sings "have you ever been afriad showing your true colurs", she had the colours of the transgender flag!

And then she had the ukrainian flag to show her support to Ukraine when Russia invaded them when she performed in either the semi final or the big final. It was really beautiful that she used her performances to boost the trans community and then to take a stand against what happens in Ukraine.

This was the performance on one of the 4 heats. Tone went through to the second chance or reprise and finally got a place in the final. The performance in the final was more polished and the outfit reveal moment was executed better.

In Swedish, both with words and names, if there's an e at the end, 99.9% of the time you're supposed to pronounce it. Also, if you find "Melodifestivalen" difficult to say, many international viewers call it "Melfest". Here in Sweden most people call it "Mello", you can choose to call it whichever you find most comfortable 😊 Tone's song was interesting to me. This kind of sound is one that used to be very popular in Mello some years ago, like 2000s to mid 2010 and even though it's popularity has died down a lot now, still every year there's at leat one or two songs with the sound. Usually I find these songs kind of tired, but for Tone's song it felt more like it was a homage to this "genre" rather than just being stuck in the past. I might be wrong with that interpretation, but that's what it felt like to me. I'm really enjoying these reactions, would be interesting to see your thoughts on Jon Henrik Fjällgren's song Norrsken from 2019. The song is partially a jojk, a traditional form of sining of the indigenous Sámi people of the nordic regions of Norway, Sweden, Finland and a tiny bit into Russia.
