I think if I were to build this place up I'd honestly block off some rooms. I love scrappy builds so having rooms be "caved in" or just too damaged to use seems very thematic for me. I love that attic though. Could even make it a survivalist hideout with the first few floors barren and trash-ridden and a fully decked out bunker up top.

I was thinking of doing something similar in a future build. Leaning into the post apocalypse vibe a bit more. I'll probably use the ground floor though. As much as the attic is more thematic, running up those stairs every time will get old I think.

Believe it or not, the windows are actually dirty, not broken. If you get a good angle on them you can see the glass is still intact.

About the windows, I am not sure why they look like that (maybe dirt), but the building comes with proper windows, when you go close the the windows you can see the light reflecting.

The proper window panes is to stop players exploiting into your house.

It's more of an aesthetic issue for me. I wish the glass wasn't broken. Actually I kind of wish there were multiple versions, one clean, one more destroyed, and flipped versions so that the entrances were on the other side. Wishful thinking though! 😂

Brilliant build, i truly appreciate how you treated the space w/o major adjustments. the small touches are very nice... the telephone on the wall, for instance. and i agree that larger pieces of furniture are well suited. Bravo for the vid, much appreciated 🥰

It wasn't too bad once I got going. The trick was not over decorating, given the size. It would be easy to run out of budget.

Make sure you've clicked the item you want to remove...and not the house...or end up storing the whole house...after hours of decorating. 😢

Nicely done. I actually got a couple of ideas that I’m going to incorporate. I’ve barely started my decorating. I have a lot of budget left, but there is a lot of empty space in this thing. One thing I decided to do was make an evil attic. Bad things and scary things happen up there not for the faint of heart. I watch a lot of horror films so the attic was an easy choice for me. Otherwise yeah you gotta fill that space. They did a bang up job on the electricity here which was very nice. Anyway, like I said, great video and I got some ideas too so fantastic

A creepy, horror vibe could work well here! Keep an eye on the budget though; I went from about the 1/3 mark to full before I had noticed! 😂

ooh, i was waiting for your one of these to drop Xion! really good use of rugs and mats to define areas, i agree that just putting down the big furniture in each room and decorating around it is a great shout, but i think pairing that with defining the floor colour really helps distinguish the area's feel before getting to the details. ive not got this new prefab yet, partly because its so huge and i was concerned about budget, and i see that my concerns are warrented. one of my first thoughts for this was to put a couple down in the wasteland or Pitt themed shelters to easily and cheaply block space off and build up a neighbourhood vibe, but id have to block off massive chunks of the buildings to make it work. not unworkable, and the skyline wound benefit from a couple of stately manors like this, but i think bang for atom i might just use other tricks. all that negativity aside, this prefab is a good sign. getting some more fully placable buildings like this would be amazing. imagine just a few of the in game buildings that already exist! one of the log cabins with a few rooms from Foundation. one of those towers raiders like to build. those quaint little houses that are basically an open plan living room/ kitchen with a couple bedrooms upstairs and a little bathroom, but one that isnt full of crap to build around. a Watoga neo-futuristic tower block the size of the woodland retreat but all curved sides and futuristic living. heck, the Overseers house that we can place in our own camp! they can do it, Todd has shown us with this that they can. and theyve posted that this is what they are planning in the future, lots of prefabs that take little budget so we can decorate and build around them to our hearts content. and damn if im not excited about it! BTS, that pantry is a great place to put the mirelurk steamer from this weeks atom shop. imagine opening that cupboard door and boom! twitching mirelurk in a tank!

Using this one in a shelter might be good shout. The extra budget and freedom would allow for some interesting setups. The only issue I can see really is that it might look a bit out of place, especially in the Pitt. I'd like to see them adding more prefab buildings though, as you mentioned. The stuff from Foundation and a lot of the houses that are scattered around the map could work well. I'm not sure about proportions on the Watoga style buildings though. They might struggle there. It will be interesting to see what they might do in this vein going forward though. I'm looking forward to having a play about with this weeks bundles too.

@DarthXionGames yeah, the watoga existing buildings are huge, I meant something of a similar size in the watoga style would be awesome. Like a reskin of that weird slowkam Joe's prefab (Sorry I can't spell today, massive headache) Yeah, the woodland retreat might look weird in the Pitt without a lot of work to make it fit in. But it might be doable if I built a neighbourhood or nice garden around it. Idk, I'm sure there is potential there

I like it. I think it has a lot of potential. I have palced a few of these and it is challanging. It is not necessary to find a completely flat area. I have build one in the mountains. It was very tricky to place it and I had to redo my CAMP move each time I messed up. On the good side, as long as you don't place any workshop items that cannot be blueprinted, the game does produce a workable blueprint that made my re-work a whole lot less tedious. By now most people have found the power connection on one side of the house. Mine was hanging over a cliff so I had to build a scaffold out of foundatins and take my character's life at risk to make the connection, but it ended just fine. Now, I just have the problen of pllacing it near a very active part of the map, so every time I spawn in there are two big enemies, like double Blue Devils waiting to assault me and my CAMP. I am going to set up a row of missle launchers for them next time. Happy gaming all.

I love the contrast of this prefab having damaged walls, ceiling and windows and clean areas of wallpaper and floors. I just wish we could attach curtains/blinds to the windows properly 😢

The different window design is cool, but not good for the curtain options we have. Saying that though I don't have enough budget for them anyway!

I also have a movie room but i put the closed type blinds on the window just to give the dark feel to it. Also added a taxidermy room with all the mounted heads i could squeeze in and the tinker's bench skin to match.

I haven't gotten upset to having those blinds yet, so I tend to forget they're there. Good idea though. A taxidermy room is an interesting idea too.

I'd expect it to be around for a bit yet. New things are usually there for three weeks so it will probably leave on 23rd Jan. No doubt it'll make a return at some point in the future too.

Had to put in some vault doors in some of the rooms so much empty space left 🤷🏻 i also put the punch bowl 🥣 underneath the mixer 😂 recently got the boat doc bundle and made another camp 😂😂i have a problem 😭🤷🏻🤦🏻

I like it but it's way too big for my taste. I would probably end up blocking some of the stairs off to reduce the floor space.

I really like what you did with the place. Given its size I think you decorated it just right. Very well thought out. I personally won’t buy this prefab as I prefer smaller builds and this house is just too big for my taste. I do like the new boat bundle though.

It came out well. It's a bit large to be really practical though. I'm going to try a smaller more detailed build within the prefab at some point. There's a lot of space that's purely decorative in this one.

I found once I decided on a use for each room it went ok. The dining area was what clicked first. That with the kitchen just behind it was a good start and from there things fell into place pretty neatly.

It's a pretty delicate balancing act to get it to look busy enough, but to still have enough budget to fill it. That said though... You don't have to use all of it. 😎

This game is annoying for 1 reason everytime I log in to a world there's always a tree or 2 that spawn into my prefab retreat house
