Visited Devon for the first time this week and visited Bellever Tor having watched this video, so thank you! We did a bit of a gruelling walk from Wistman’s Wood to Higher White Tor and then over the Lych Way to Bellever and the views were so worth the sore feet afterwards. Thanks for posting this and giving us some inspiration!

Inspiring as ever. love your comment about the quietness when you find that spot just out of the wind. You cannot beat walk in the wind to clear the mind.

Lovely video to watch from our home just down the road as this was a favourite dog walk before Covid. As you point out there are so many historic remains in that area. If you have time to explore. Some are marked but others are in the wide grasslands between the two wooded areas and include stone circles, cairns and settlement boundary walls. Fascinating. Sadly the grazing on the moor has been controlled to the point that invasive grasses have taken over and hidden a lot of history.

The scenery filled me with an almost overwhelming sense of the vast expanse of English history and culture. From there I started to get angry and worried, because of what's happening nowadays with the whole thing being overridden and overwritten. It is a glorious history that is inseparable from the lands, and the English have a right to preserve and protect it. I hope they will.

I can really appreciate where you are coming from. It is so important we protect our countryside, even just picking up litter when we walk! I picked up a Costa cup and 5 coke cans on my last walk...

Agreed many parts of the country are being swamped by mass immigration it’s seems endless & our people are being strangled with political correctness if we speak out..there’s something sick in society where the people have no say in the direction which the country is run just ignored by politicians...towns & villages are growing bigger, green belt land built over as many of the English people try to move out of the way of it . kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2LKoHyBba59j80

Did a similar hike around Bellever Tor last week from Postbridge... got completely soaked! But luckily I did have a change of clothes. Followed up with a Cream Tea at the The Old Police Station Cafe' in Princetown ;-)

Hey Abbie. For capturing the scenery, i think thats your best bit of filming you've done so far. especially the sun through the pine trees shot. they're the little gems you might or might not get when you head out in changeable weather. '"The great views will never come and find you". Thats my motto. Excellent Filming, and of course presentation. Gary.

Good post Abbie...I have the good fortune to live within the Dartmoor National Park....I echo your comments about human settlement & interaction in this seemingly inhospitable environment.....to me it is a great puzzle but it's encountered all over Dartmoor...I would love to have a time machine & solve the mystery of these weird stone rows, pillars & stone circles....keep on doing what you are doing.....

Happy Christmas, Abbie! Great to see such regular videos from you. Do you use an external mic with your GoPro? Audio always seems so clear.

Hi Olly, thanks for watching and good question. I dont actually use an external mic at all! Sometimes I am a lazy filmmaker and just pick up the camera and shoot :)

You do choose amazing places to walk in - I love all of your videos. Have you thought about The Hertfordshire Way? It's a 194 mile circular route around the county. Me and a couple of friends are going to try to do it this year in segments, it has 14 legs about 12 miles long per leg.
