Thats been my thinking hence loads of camps but hopefully we dont .... Anyway a nice camp and not your usual spot lol , I used to have the A6000 great camera but without a mic it does suffer wind noise so I bought that sony ECM-XYST1M mic which helped . Its a great camera for night shots too , hoping you get back out on the moor very soon atb Dave

Thanks Dave. I don't use the A6000 as much as I used to. Pity, as its a good camera and did well with the night shots (@ ISO 800 & 1000). You're right, the microphone is not very good on it and does get affected by wind easily. I'll have a look at the one you mentioned. ATB

I hope that lock down doesn't come as soon as you think! I've been out twice this year on Dartmoor, you got me thinking, I need to make the time to get out

Since we were 'allowed' back out. I've been intending/hoping to as much as I can. I just have a feeling it might revert back to what it was. I'd like to get out again soon. Just keep your eyes/ears on the news!!

A spare Spam can make all the difference!! Up where I was, I hardly saw any midges. Too windy for them. ATB

Fingers crossed we don’t get locked down again, but got a feeling you my be right that things are heading that way again. I was in this area myself Saturday just gone started at Rowtor, west mill, yes tor, high willhays, dropped down to ford lands ledge then down to base of lints tor ( thing I found your usual spot) then lints to dinger and spent the night on east mill tor. Yeah the weather has been good, I’ve done 3 overnights lately with no rain, I must be doing something wrong 😂

Never been to your country, Just wondering, IF you were to start at one edge of that area and walk straight across to the far end, how far from city to city and would you encounter many people? Also, the stone circle in the second half of the video, has it historical legends behind it?
@WyeExplorer4 жыл бұрын
You may encounter one or two. But you can go for a a number of days and not see any one. All depends.

Hi Alan. Dartmoor is about 365 square miles - roughly 20 miles north to south, and just a shade under 20 miles east to west. About the same size as London. You can walk for some time and not meet anyone or see a lot of people in a short time. All depends on the area and time of year. The stone circles are either old homes or burial mounds. Iron age, bronze age. Dartmoor has a lot of legends & history. Old mines/quarries too. ATB

Good time out on the moor Mr Jim. Conditions were fairly decent. I gotta say that tree was pretty kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6HYZa2MltamgKM and a I bet the water was good out of that MSR. Good going Stone circles and all. Mark

Cheers Mark. I'm quite happy with the MSR filter but think it needs a longer hose. The stone circle has more than 9 stones, so should be renamed!! Lol.

@@MrJimJD A pleasure. I've been thinking of getting one - still got the Soya Mini. s for the stone circle we can be creative. Have a good one.
